    Field Service Engineer

    Description

    • Daystar Power Group is looking to engage competent and experienced Field Service Engineers to install, maintain and operate our sites in Lagos, Katsina, Bauchi, Yobe, Sokoto, Plateau, Jigawa, Benue and Kogi State of Nigeria.
    • He or she will troubleshoot and repair PV inverters, commission new equipment, and increase customer satisfaction through quality service and professional behaviour.
    • We are seeking hard-working, motivated, and well-organized individuals with a focus on continuous improvement to exceed expectations.

    Key Responsibilities
    Field Service:

    • Actively monitors installed site performance and creates monthly report for client.
    • Serves as the first line of contact for client complaints.
    • Resolves site issues remotely and through site visits.
    • Ensures customer satisfaction.
    • Keep NOC team informed of regional issues and site status.
    • Perform site audits when necessary.

    General:

    • Assist in market research and identify solar energy projects in Nigeria.
    • Develop standard operating procedures and HSE standards for solar installation work.
    • Develop and coach technical staff to meet the objectives of the company.
    • Review technological trends in the local and global energy sector.
    • Liaise with regulatory and governmental institutions as required.

    Requirements

    • Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ work experience in Electrical Engineering roles, preferably in the renewable energy or power industry, installing and / or maintaining solar systems.
    • Language Proficiency: English.

      • A self-motivated and demonstrate a sense of ownership with high level of commitment and the ability to thrive under pressure.

    Field Service Technician

    Head of QHSE & Facilities

    Description

    • Daystar Power Group is looking to engage a competent and experienced Head of QHSE & Facilities (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment), who will foster a safety culture and performance in the workplace by educating and ensuring QHSE compliance in accordance with internal and external demands.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Establishing, implementing, and maintaining processes required for QHSE Management systems and drive QHSE initiatives and inculcate a positive safety culture within the company.
    • Ensuring that the QHSE Management System is established implemented and maintained in accordance with ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001.
    • Ensuring that all process owners, supervisors, and managers develop and maintain their part of the Quality Management System.
    • Facilitating preparation of work procedures, processes, and flow charts in coordination with the concerned departments.
    • Managing the Internal Quality Audit (IQA) and HSE Audit activities in the company to ensure that QHSE management system is uniformly implemented across the organization.
    • Generating statistical reports in Quality and HSE for management review.
    • Communicating information and improvement on the QHSE Management System throughout the organization and promote QHSE awareness.
    • Liaising with external/internal parties on matters relating to the QHSE Management System.
    • Ensuring all HSE incidents reported by the staff are properly investigated and corrective/preventive actions are established and implemented.
    • Maintaining QHSE training records and ensure common QHSE training standards are implemented throughout the area (i.e. QHSE specific training, management system training, individual safety certification training).
    • Ensuring common work standards / policies are complied with throughout the area (i.e. working at heights, electrical safety standards, etc.).
    • Supervise and coordinates the work of contractors to ensure QHSE compliance
    • Oversee the management of facilities including the building management and repairs, plumbing systems, Utilities, facility cleanliness, maintenance of furniture and fittings.
    • Manages preventive and corrective maintenance and repair work on the mechanical and electrical systems of the facility
    • Coordinates allocation and furnishing of office space.
    • Supervise and review the performance of outsourced property managers and suppliers.
    • Responsible for ensuring that all statutory obligations to the local, state, and federal government of all the facilities are in order.
    • Ensures the provision of a safe and conducive working environment.

    Requirements

    • Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or its equivalent with additional professional qualifications in QHSE, Facilities and Fire & Safety Management Systems.
    • Experience:
      • At least 8 years of experience, with 5 years in QHSE at managerial level.
      • Experience in successful implementation of ISO 9001, QHSAS 18001 or ISO 14001 requirement in at least one organization or others relevant to the power sector.
      • Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, Environmental Discharges, Incident Command System, Incident Investigation Tool, HSE Auditing Techniques.
      • Relevant Industrial and Management Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.
    • Language Proficiency: English.

    Field Service Manager

    Description

    • Daystar Power Group is currently seeking a Field Service Engineering Manager to manage the operation and maintenance of the Lagos and South-West sites, resulting in a 99% uptime or better, and ensuring customer experience is world class, resulting in a Net Promoter Score of 70 or above.
    • As an Engineering Manager, Field Service, you will build, lead, and inspire Daystar Power’s Field Service Engineering team. In addition, you will spearhead the implementation of best-in-class success processes, to ensure customer happiness at Daystar Power.
    • The job holder should enjoy digging into analytics to guide data-driven decision making and also be comfortable engaging directly with key customers as the ‘face of Daystar Power’.

    Key Responsibilities
    Operations and Maintenance:

    • Ensure uptime of 99% across all sites.
    • Remotely monitor and track each site’s performance.
    • Schedule and execute site maintenance activities.
    • Supervise site operation to detect and resolve issues swiftly.
    • Manage spare parts and repairs as needed.
    • Execute warranty claims on equipment with early failure.
    • Manage site expenses to ensure profitability.

    Customer Experience:

    • On-boarding of new customers to ensure smooth transition into using daystar power’s products and services.
    • Manage contract obligations between Daystar Power and client:
    • Implement and continually optimize the use of a CRM to capture key metrics that guide Field service activities.
    • Produce comprehensive Field service reports and analysis for senior management and customers.

    General:

    • Research and deploy new technology onto sites to improve uptime, reduce operating costs and increase Net Promoter Score.
    • Collaborate with multiple Daystar Power sub-teams (e.g., Sales, Project, Legal) to coordinate smooth customer transitions between the sub-teams and promote a seamless customer experience.
    • Research new best practices in field service engineering and implement these key trends into Daystar Power’s Success initiatives.
    • Provide input on the design and prioritization of new features and services based on a thorough understanding of our clients, technology, and competition.
    • Manage portfolio of solar sites across Lagos and the South-West region of Nigeria

    Requirements

    • Education:
      • Master’s degree in Management (MBA) or similar.
      • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
      • HSE certification is an advantage.
    • Experience:
      • A minimum of 5 years’ work experience in Electrical Engineering roles.
      • Prior knowledge of the solar or power industry, a plus.
      • Minimum of 5 years experience managing relationships with business customers, demonstrated track record of managing and nurturing B2B customer relationships, a strong plus.
      • Prior experience in a management position on a Field Service team.
    • Language:
      • Proficiency in English (oral & written).
      • French is a plus.
