    Farm Operation Officer (Breeder Operations)

    Job Objective

    • Achieve set production targets that is compliant with the corporate biosecurity and reporting standards using assigned human and material resources in the most cost-efficient manner.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure good management of flocks assigned to you following the breed manual and approved SOPs, liaising with your direct report for optimum deployment of available resources.
    • Raise daily requisitions of feed and other inputs required for management of assigned flock from preplacement to culling and submit to your direct report for approval.
    • Develop workplan and drive task to accomplishment on day-to-day basis.
    • Support in supervision of farm operatives to ensure:
      • Proper management of flocks under your section.
      • Adherence to existent biosecurity standards and improving on it
      • Proper maintenance of farm equipment and facilities under your section.
      • Adequate record keeping.
    • Provide innovative ideas that can facilitate achievement of the operational business objectives.
    • Support in on the job training of farm attendants and other assignees on approved management practices which guarantees result
    • Supervise drugs and vaccines administration on assigned flocks following recommended dosage or as otherwise directed by the unit manager.
    • Ensure timely reporting of observed abnormality of the flock, fault or inefficiency of any facilities in your area of assignment to your direct report for charting of corrective action.
    • Keep accurate record of flock population and day-to-day management, submit daily activity report in line with given format as well as production report of every batch managed not later than 24hours after completion of culling to your direct report.
    • Carry-out other functions that may be assigned to you by your direct report or farm manager from timeto-time in attainment of the department goals

    • Level 3 rating in technical skills at the end of probationary period
    • Satisfactory rating in Leadership and people management
    • 5% Henday production at week 25
    • Achieve 70% of production parameters for rearing (5% mortality, 100% of Target weight and 85% uniformity)
    • Satisfactory rating in problem solving skill
    • Satisfactory rating in staff management
    • Satisfactory rating in stress tolerance (i.e. makes minor mistakes in difficult situations; provides results) good quality when work is intense).

    Skills, Competencies and Requirements
    Educational Qualifications / Experience:

    • Minimum of University Degree or HND in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Production and Health or Agricultural Science.
    • 1 - 2 years working experience in the poultry industry

    Functional Competencies / Requirements:

    • Good knowledge of Poultry Science and Health management such as flock health, breeder flock and quality management
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

    Remuneration

    • Salary: N585,541 - N751,521 Per annum with incentive-based pay of N 180,000 to 240,000 per annum Fringe benefits include pension in consonance with the Contributory Pension Scheme, Group Life Insurance and medical/health insurance

    Maintenance Manager

    Job Objective

    • To coordinate all maintenance functions including systems, process, procedures, utilities & infrastructures that support corporate strategic goals, policies and standards through proactive planning and cost-effective actions and programs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and coordinate the maintenance team and activities by:
      • Analyzing equipment needs, reliability issues, developing preventive/predictive maintenance programs
      • Driving the team capabilities to achieve the maintenance targets through structured problem solving, improvement interventions etc
      • Planning and oversee all repair and installation activities
      • Coaching, mentoring, training and developing the maintenance team to improve their overall technical capabilities in meeting current and future business requirements
      • Ensuring the team is trained & complied with:
        • EHS standards on all the jobs, tas execution & processes.
        • Correct codes of practice, both statutory and advisory.
      • Reviewing maintenance performance through daily, weekly & monthly meetings with team members & relevant stake holders
      • Carrying out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues, maintaining a calendar covering all the statutory inspections for the Plant, facilities and equipment o ensuring compliance to all personnel policies, records and systems such as attendance, off-duty, etc
    • Set up & implement Preventive Maintenance programme for operations of the company ensuring its effectiveness through adherence checks against schedule to maximize equipment and machines availability and functionality
    • Ensure breakdowns are duly attended to & RCA/CAPA is carried out to prevent reoccurrence
    • Promote innovation and problem-solving mindset within the team to improve systems, process and equipment reliability, utilization, efficiency & safety & making plans for implementation
    • Ensure an effective Engineering spare management through Safety stock reviews & proactive ordering on time - Keep record of daily, weekly and monthly maintenance activities and ensure update of maintenance logs by assignees for documentation and periodic reporting.
    • Partake in supervision of contracted works relating to Maintenance (i.e. renovations, remodeling and new construction) to ensure cost effectiveness and quality service.
    • Carry out review of Repair & maintenance expenses on ongoing basis & devising strategies to manage the actual costs against the allotted budget.
    • Minimise downtime by keeping all equipment and machines in good condition, providing day-to-day maintenance and ensuring all services & upgrades are performed with the least disruption.
    • Carry out other related duties that may be assigned from time to time in attainment of the strategic goals by Management.

    • Saving on budgeted energy cost

    Skills Competencies and Requirements
    Educational Qualifications / Experience:

    • Minimum of B.Sc / HND in Engineering, Facility Management or related field.
    • 2. 5 years experience with 2 years in similar role or leadership position

    Functional Competencies / Requirements:

    • Solid understanding of the technical aspects of R&A, electrical, plumbing, heat and power generating systems, machines and equipment, etc.
    • In depth knowledge of trouble shooting, general maintenance practices & processes.
    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and management software.
