    Senior Communications Manager

    CeedCap is a startup studio and an early-stage investment management group. The company provides venture building, private equity, strategic advisory, and corporate innovation services to the technology-enabled sector.

    Operating as a bridge between Africa’s digital economy and the international VC investment, CeedCap connects people, capital, and ideas to accelerate innovation and provide value to portfolio companies, limited partners (LP) and the connected world.

    Profile:

    We are looking to hire a Senior Communications Manager with a background in Marketing and PR.  He/She will manage a diverse team of innovative communication and marketing experts to focus on the following areas: Local & Global brand management, Corporate Communications, Marketing, Media and Industry analyst relations

    To succeed in this role, he/she should be a highly motivated, a well-seasoned communications and marketing professional with a track record in PR management.

    Job Purpose:

    Strategy & Planning:

    • Develop and implement effective communication and Brand Marketing strategies based on market, program, program  data and critical issues.
    • Develop and oversee the implementation of an internal and external communication, marketing, and advocacy strategy to advance CeedCap’s brand identity, broadening awareness of its programs and priorities, its value-added, and increasing the visibility of its efforts across key stakeholder audiences.
    • Develop and execute branding initiatives, campaigns and events with the goal of promoting the CeedCap’s products and services.
    • Develop and execute media strategies, statements and talking points to constantly promote our media coverage in our industry market
    • Work with senior management to identify and address corporate communications opportunities & solutions and define and execute apporpriate strategies to support them
    • Manage the image and reputation of the company, its leadership and team members through effective media and public relations.
    • Execute content development across the business, working with external agencies when necessary
    • Manage company initiatives and represent the company at relevant events, exhibitions and shows
    • Oversee writing, content management, and design direction for CeedCap’s website
    • Manage the website content update on a monthly basis or as needed with relevant announcements
    • Oversee the development and dissemination of all CeedCap print and web-related communication activities
    • Prepare a long term plan for content development, including standards and guidelines based on CeedCap’s goals
    • Assist the Managing Director with creating targeted communication messages for business development opportunities.
    • Keep abreast of industry trends, competitions, and new opportunities by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending relevant programmes
    • Accountable for program effectiveness and return on marketing communications investment.

    Quality Assurance

    • Develop, implement and enforce content and communication policy, procedures, standards and its appropriate use
    • Manage the editorial and quality assurance process with internal and external content creators
    • Ensure consistent messaging, tone and use of language on all communications, providing access to content as needed
    • Ensure that all print and online communications are consistent with CeedCap’s brand marketing
    • Create and execute a content audit plan to ensure content data is current and accurate

     Knowledge sharing Management:

    • Coordinate the delivery and availabilty of timely, accurate and quality data, information, intelligence and knowledge
    • Manage the development and use of CeedCap’s internal information and knowledge systems and databases, ensuring that staff are trained and supported in using them efficiently

    Operational Management

    • Manage information submission to and updating of all communication portals
    • Manage the distribution of CeedCap news development to all stakeholder audiences 
    • Participate in ad-hoc projects and perform other activities as assigned 

    Requirements:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Commerce, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related course
    • Minimum of six (6) years relevant experience including previous role(s) in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, etc preferably in the IT sector
    • Experience in integrated communications, including in-depth knowledge of global digital platforms (web, mobile, social), face-to-face channels, content strategy, publishing and management
    • Knowledge of and experience in using a variety of social media platforms and tools including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Slideshare, Youtube, WordPress and more.
    • Strong online research skills including information gathering, organization, and synthesis: experience with Analyst research, News Media research, Social Media research, and other forms of published content
    • Strong strategic, analytical thinking and problem solving skills, with demonstrated excellence in creating and articulating positions
    • Creative and strategic thinker with good project management skills
    • Ability to manage complex workflows, and multi-task under pressure and on deadlines
    • Good team management, interpersonal and communication skills
    • Great eye for details and excellent proofreading and organizational skills
    • Extensive media network across all major Growth Markets mediums and networks
    • Solid proficiency in Google Tools and experience in relevant software eg: Slack, JIRA etc.

    Finance Manager

    We are looking to hire a Finance Manager with excellent organizational and analytical skills. Finance Managers are expected to be detail-oriented, knowledgeable on statistics, have strong problem-solving skills and an investigative nature. 

    To succeed in this role, He/She should have a deep commercial awareness, strong numeracy skills, and a keen interest in the growth, efficiency, and profitability of an organization. If you also have outstanding communication and report writing skills with superb technical ability, fantastic negotiation skills and proven knowledge of various financial forecasting and corporate finance models, we would like to meet you.

    Job Purpose:

    • Plan, organize and execute financial tasks and projects of the organization
    • Make estimates of funds required for the short and long-term financial objectives of the organization
    • Complete financial reports, lead the month-end closing process and conduct monthly financial forecasts
    • Develop and implement plans for budgeting, forecasting and reporting
    • Achieve a proper mix of equity and debt to minimize cost and maximize operational profit.
    • Strategize on fund procurement through banks and other financial institutions
    • Prudently make investments on assets that maximize returns
    • Provide financial insights and analysis to drive the business performance of the organization
    • Manage and monitor metrics, KPI tracking, and reports
    • Evaluate the financial insight and analysis to drive the business performance of the organization
    • Understand and calculate the risks involved in the financial activities of the organization
    • Research macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions
    • Prepare accounting and other required reports and projections based on the analysis performed

    • Identify financial performance trends and financial risk, and making recommendations
    • Provide recommendations for improvement based on trends
    • Coordinate with other memebers of the finance team, such as a risk analyst when required to review financial information and forecasts
    • Provide financial models and make financial forecasts

    Requirements:

    • Degree in Finance/Accounting or related(essential)
    • ICAN accrediatation (essential)
    • CPA, CFA license(Plus)
    • 5 years of work experience as a Finance Manager(essential)
    • Thorough understanding of IFRS
    • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
    • Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
    • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

    Senior Product Manager

    Profile

    An exciting and varied position, the Senior Product Manager will lead the product team to define, build and launch mission critical initiatives that have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. You will use research and data to define strategy for our products, and follow product development from start to finish.

    Job Purpose:

    • Develop and implement product strategies consistent with CeedCap’s vision
    • Work with senior management to create product plans and roadmaps
    • Own and lead all aspects of an established agile team; writing user stories and acceptance criteria, backlog grooming, triage and prioritization, demos, end to end product execution, cross-functional leadership.
    • Communicate product directions, delivery, launch, and mitigation plans to all relevanat team members and business stakeholders.
    • Establish and maintain credibility within the business, and our users.
    • Conduct user research and data analysis to assess opportunities, risks, and business plans.
    • Set adoption targets and continously analyze data to assess the success of a product and inform product direction.
    • Collect and anaalyze feedback from stakeholders and other teams to shape requirements, features and end products.
    • Lead product managers and coordinate cross-functional teams
    • Produce and review product requirement documents(PRD)
    • Ensure products and releases are launched correctly and on schedule
    • Make creative recommendations to expand product base vision
    • Suggest ways to track product use and impact on end users
    • Measure product performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
    • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, writing scope and within budget
    • Develop a detailed product plan to track progress
    • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
    • Create and maintain comprehensive product documentation
    • Report and escalate to management as needed

    Requirements:

    • 6+ years of proven experience as a Product Manager or similar role in product management or as a technical founder in a fast-growing tech B2C startup company. FinTech is a plus. Focus on emerging markets is a plus.
    • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
    • Technical fluency; you don’t have to be an engineer, but you do need to speak the language
    • A problem solver with a data-driven and KPI-oriented approach to maximize the efficiency of all product operations, using relevant tools.
    • Detail oriented and a high bar for quality when it comes to writing stories, acceptance criteria, launch plans, and testing a feature before greenlighting it to launch to users.
    • Ability to build wireframes and mockups, with a knack for keeping things simple
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to identify and communicate blockers, next steps, and progress.
    • Strong analytical skills and fluency with data, with the ability to use a variety of tools to gather and synthesize information.
    • Organizational and leadershp abilities
    • Excellent communication, creative thinking and problem solving skills
    • Strong working knowledge of Google Tools
    • Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Slack
    • An entrepreneurial mindet and commitment to get hands dirty at all times
    • Consensus-builder; develops relationships across the company with ease
