    People Operations Manager

    Job Overview

    • Branch is hiring a People Operations Manager to join its phenomenal team in Nigeria.
    • We are looking for a passionate and self-driven individual who loves contributing to multiple pillars of People Operations, excels at building and improving processes, and wants to make an impact on employee experience. In this role, you will lead all things related to People & Culture for Branch in Nigeria, working closely with Nigeria’s Managing Director and Branch’s Chief People Officer, as well as leading the People Operations team to deliver programs and initiatives that will help Branch continue to build a world-class team and drive employee experience in Nigeria.
    • You will be part of a global People Operations team supporting culture and people practices at Branch as well as business growth, with a key focus on hiring, employee engagement and retention, performance management, learning & development, and more! Communicating with precision, developing trust, and leading with integrity is critical to success, as is the ability to navigate multiple priorities with attention to detail and a service-oriented approach. This role will report to the Managing Director for Nigeria.

    Responsibilities

    • Spearhead and drive the people strategy in synergy with business strategy, including budgeting and planning, execution, and analysis.
    • Lead and manage all aspects of HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and onboarding processes to ensure seamless employee experience.
    • Manage the people operations team, while setting goals and delivering efficient, high-quality solutions and services with respect to: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning & development, and employee engagement
    • Serve as a culture champion for Branch, including designing and implementing employee engagement initiatives, building talent development strategies, and elevating Branch’s values in the Nigeria office
    • Manage performance review cycles, including goal-setting frameworks, feedback mechanisms, and professional development plans to drive employee growth and accountability.
    • Partner with hiring managers and the global People Operations team to drive our Diversity and Inclusion initiatives
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations as required by regulatory authorities.
    • Work closely with managers as a strategic advisor to address employee issues proactively
    • Coordinate with the global People Operations team to create and produce programming and policies that make Branch the best place to work.
    • Build and promote the employer brand to attract and retain great talent.

    Qualifications

    • 7+ years as a seasoned HR professional, with at least two years spent managing a team.
    • Has led HR/People Operations for a small- to mid-sized startup.
    • Excellent written and verbal communicator who listens first and seeks to understand
    • Detail-oriented, proactive, and curious.
    • Comfortable working with global teams and able to apply local context to global practices
    • Autonomous, proactive, and comfortable owning a project from start to finish
    • Highly entrepreneurial, scrappy, and able to wear several hats
    • Intermediate Microsoft Office and analytical skills
    • Highly collaborative, with excellent stakeholder management skills & experience.

    Senior Associate, Finance and Accounting

    Job Overview

    • The Senior Associate, Finance and Accounting will work with the Head of Finance for Nigeria. 
    • This will be a role that will involve accounting, reporting as well as ensuring adherence to internal controls and statutory compliance. 
    • The Senior Associate, Finance and Accounting should also be someone with an interest in FP&A who is willing to learn how to work with growth models, analyse financial statements, forecast and budget.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform accounting functions including, but not limited to, verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions with a good understanding of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with accompanying schedules, verify the accuracy of all statements and maintain the integrity of balance sheet balances and inflow/outflow systems.
    • Maintain all general ledgers and related accounts with proper documentation and records of all transactions; review entries to the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance with the company’s and established accounting principles.
    • Assist with setting up accounting books and procedures for new countries as the business expands.
    • Ensure statutory reports such as CBN-related reports and other regulatory reports are prepared and filed on time.
    • Coordinate annual external audits and prepare assigned schedules for the yearly & interim audits.

    Qualifications

    • A finance-related degree, with ICAN/ACCA as an added advantage.
    • A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably  working in the financial service industry
    • Experience working with accounting software (Netsuite, QuickBooks, Oracle)
    • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of tools like SQL and Power BI is an advantage.
    • Self-motivated, results-focused and creative
    • Methodical approach and problem-solving skills
    • Able to work with tight deadlines and in a startup environment.

    Senior Associate, Legal and Compliance

    Job Overview

    • Working with the Head of Legal and Compliance, the Legal and Compliance Senior Associate will be responsible for general legal advisory functions, advising on regulatory obligations across the organisation, liaising with regulators and stakeholders and proactively troubleshooting for lapses and areas of improvement in our processes and compliance levels. 
    • An ideal candidate must have a sound knowledge of the applicable laws and regulations, understand the regulatory regime for fintechs and also be a worthy champion of our compliance culture. 

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare, review and advise on contracts and documents of the Company’s business and operations.
    • Provide analysis on legal and policy issues.
    • Maintain regulatory position by:
      • Liaising with regulators;
      • Coordinating/rendering returns and filings
      • Coordinating audits and implementation of any audit findings.
    • Support functional business leads on compliance matters.
    • Coordinate processes, procedures, policies, and training in accordance with regulatory obligations and international best practices.
    • Prepare evaluation reports on compliance to the management on a monthly basis.
    • Maintain up-to-date records of regulatory changes and notifiable events relating to internal policies and procedures, Money Laundering and Combating Terrorist Financing, Customer Due Diligence, Consumer Protection, Complaints Management, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Conflicts of Interest, etc. 

    Qualifications

    • 3 to 5 years working years experience with a minimum of 12 months in the Financial Services Industry/Fintech Space.

    Product Manager, Africa

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the entire lifecycle of development for one area of the Branch product.
    • This encompasses everything from researching new features and creating detailed specs to triaging bugs to managing the team’s workflow to shipping deliverables on time.
    • Work closely with our engineering and operational teams to triage bugs and set high-level quarterly milestones.
    • Draw insights from user research, experiments, and industry trends to set the team strategy and prioritize projects that sustainably grow our customer base and drive the adoption of new products.

     Qualifications

    • You have 3+ years of experience in product management with demonstrated ability to lead technical teams. Prior experience with a high-growth consumer software product or in a growth-focused role is a plus.
    • You have demonstrated the ability to manage projects, bring clarity to ambiguous questions, and chart a path forward.
    • You have proven intuition and skills for designing world-class customer experiences through well-honed user research techniques and mock-ups.
    • You have top-notch analytical abilities including some familiarity with SQL.
