    Store Manager, Mines

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a dedicated Store Manager, Mines to Plan, manage and control all stores and inventory operations supporting mining and limestone operations at DCP Gboko Plant, ensuring uninterrupted availability of critical mining spares, consumables and materials, while maintaining strict inventory control, HSE compliance, cost optimization and asset protection.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Oversee receipt, storage, issuance and control of all mining-related materials, spare parts, consumables, tools and PPE.
    • Ensure timely availability of critical spares for mining equipment such as dump trucks, excavators, drills, loaders, conveyors and auxiliary equipment.
    • Manager on-site mine stores and satellite stores, ensuring proper layout, labelling and material segregation.
    • Coordinate inter-store transfers between plant stores and mines stores where applicable.
    • Maintain accurate inventory recors in the ERP system (SAP MM/WM or equivalent).
    • Define and monitor minimum, maximum and critical stock levels for mining spares and consumables.
    • Conduct cycle counts, periodic stocktakes and surprise check; investigate and resolve variances.
    • Identify and manage slow-moving, obsolete and surplus inventory, recommending disposal or redeployment.
    • Support Finance during month-end and year-end inventory valuation and reconciliation.
    • Ensure all receipts are supported by valid purchase orders, delivery notes and inspection approvals.
    • Control issuance strictly against approved material requisitions, job cards and work orders.
    • Enforce authorization matrices for issuance of high-value, sensitive or controlled items.
    • Prevent stock losses through strict access control, documentation discipline and security coordination.
    • Ensure full compliance with Dangote Cement HSE policies  and mining safety regulations.
    • Enforce safe storage and handling of lubricants, oil, chemicals, and explosives-related material (if applicable).
    • Ensure availability of proper use of spill kits, fire-fighting equipment and safety signage.
    • Participate actively in HSE inspections, risk assessment and incident investigation.
    • Work closely with Mines Operations and Maintenance teams to forecast material requirement to prevent downtime.
    • Liaise with Procurementon lead times, suppliers performance and urgent sourcing of long-lad items.
    • Coordinate with Logistics and Security on inbound deliveries and safe movement of materials to mine site.
    • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly mines stores reports covering stock levels, usage trends, variances and critical shortages.
    • Maintain accurate documentation for audit trails, including GRNs, issue vouchers, transfer notes and adjustment reports.
    • Support internal and external audits, ensuring zero audit queries on mines inventory.
    • Supervise and develop mines stors officers, clerks and assistants.
    • Ensure staff are trained on ERP usage, inventory procedures, material identification and HSE practices.
    • Conduct performance appraisals, coaching and disciplinary actions in line with company policy.
    • Promote teamwork, discipline and accountability within the mines stores team.

    Requirements
    Qualification and Experience:

    • Bachelor`s degree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Logistics or related discipline.
    • 10+years’ experience in inventory management or stores control within Mining, Cement manufacturing, Quarry or heavy equipment operations.
    • At least 3 years in a managerial role.
    • Strong experience with ERP systems (SAP MM/WM preferred)

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong knowledge of mining equipment, spare parts and consumables.
    • Inventory planning and analytical skills.
    • High level of integrity and control consciousness.
    • Sound understanding of HSE and mining safety requirements.
    • Leadership, people management and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in remote mine environments under pressure.

    Deputy Manager, Mines Operations

    Job Summary

    • Coordinate and control the mining operations in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Oversee the activities of heavy equipment operators, drillers, blasters and other workers in mining
    • Ensure the implementation of short-term production plans and targets are achieved.
    • Coordinate the preparation and ensure adherence to mine plans and schedules
    • Establish methods to meet work schedules and confer with managerial and technical personnel, other departments and contractors to resolve problems and co-ordinate activities.
    • Develop and maintain life of mine plans for all operations with input from all operations and manage the successful implementation of these plans
    • Ensure that all the raw material tons requirement for the factory at the correct quality aims are continually met without negatively affecting the mining equipment utilisations.
    • Coordinate with the Head, Mines to set production quotas, to plan extraction sites and to develop policies for the removal of raw materials.
    • Monitor operational performance against budget and recommend operational changes to senior management when necessary to ensure that production quotas and procedures are met.
    • Ensure that all safety, health and environmental legal and defined standards are adhered to.
    • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity.
    • Prepare production and other reports for review by the Head, Mines.
    • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and laid down policies and procedures.
    • Supervise, train, and evaluate engineers, technicians, operators or other mine personnel.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned but the Head, Mines from time to time.

    Key Requirements
    Education and Work Experience:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Engineering (Production/Civil/Mining) or a related discipline.
    • A minimum of fifteen (15) years work experience in mining operations..

    Skills and Competencies:

    • In-depth understanding of mining principles and practices.
    • Well developed personnel management skills.
    • Excellent investigative, analytical, problem solving and lateral thinking skills to improve mining operation practices.
    • Very good business skills to allow the delivery of a cost effective mines operations.

    Deputy General Manager, Power Plant

    Job Summary

    • Support the Head of Power Plant in coordinating the operations of the power plant equipment in a continuous, efficient, and economical manner.
    • Provide strategic and operational leadership to sectional heads.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic leadership for monitoring operations for efficiency and safety, ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements are followed.
    • Coordinate the operations of the power plant, including all auxiliary equipment in a safe, professional manner, in accordance with industry standards, environmental restrictions, original equipment manufacturers’ recommendations and DCP Standard Operating Procedures. 
    • Ensure the continuous operation of the generating plant, including all auxiliary equipment in a manner which will achieve the optimum thermal efficiency, without compromising safety, plant availability and reliability.
    • Oversee technical staff, such as control room engineers and fuel management officers in the performance of their duties.
    • Ensure the safe and reliable operation of the plant according to approved procedures and within environmental constraints.
    • Oversee unit start-ups, shutdowns, and normal operation of electric generating equipment in a power plant.
    • Control quality, quantity and promptness of work performed as measured against accepted standards. 
    • Recommend improvements and modifications in organisation, complement, procedures, policies, standards, specifications, methods, processes, and equipment within area of supervision.
    • Enforce accident prevention and occupational health work procedures and regulations. Ensure safekeeping of materials, tools, and equipment.
    • Provide regular updates to the Head, Power Plant on the status of plant operations.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Head, Power Plant from time to time.

    Key Requirements
    Education and Work Experience:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in a relevant discipline.
    • A minimum of twenty (20) years power plant operations related experience

    • In-depth understanding of power plant systems and interactions among systems
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Good networking and teaming skills.
