    Internal Control Officer

    Role Overview

    • The successful candidate will work in partnership with all stakeholders. The role will be reporting directly to the Team Lead of Internal Control.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in conducting internal control reviews across the bank by designing and implementing control testing programs to assess their effectiveness, collaborating with both finance and non-finance teams.
    • Daily Independent Call Over of all qualifying Transactions within 24 hours of posting.
    • Ensuring integrity of the general ledger through daily trial balance review and GL proofing.
    • Daily review of the reconciliation and settlement processes for NIP inward/outward, card & web transactions, Inter-bank transactions, agency banking, and biller transactions.
    • Ensure prompt resolution of all open issues in the Internal Audit Report, Management letter, Regulatory Examiners Report and other Statutory Examiners Report involving departments under your purview.
    • Daily and monthly reviews to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Review of retail and business loan disbursement and other credit operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal credit policies.
    • Conduct thorough investigations and spot checks in identified areas of weakness, providing recommendations for appropriate control measures to address deficiencies.
    • Perform income assurance to ascertain accurate revenue reporting
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    Requirements

    • At least 3-5 years experience in an Internal Control role of a bank.
    • ACA/ACCA is an added advantage.
    • The Ideal candidate is a critical thinker with a keen interest in improving an organization’s internal control environment.
    • Solid understanding and experience with internal control frameworks
    • Strong communication skills presenting internal control and risk matters in an understandable way across various forums and levels of the organization with the right level of detail.
    • Fintech experience is an added advantage.

    IT Audit Officer

    Role Overview

    • We are seeking an IT Audit Officer to support our audit team on a 12 month maternity contract. The successful candidate will support in assessing IT systems, applications, infrastructure, and cybersecurity controls. The role involves conducting risk assessments, reviewing IT policies for compliance with regulatory standards, and identifying control gaps to recommend improvements.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in performing IT audits of applications, infrastructure, and cybersecurity controls.
    • Help in the review of IT policies, procedures, and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., CBN, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS).
    • Conduct walkthroughs and risk assessments of IT systems and processes.
    • Support the audit team in identifying control gaps and recommending process improvements.
    • Document audit findings using Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, etc., for reporting and presentations.
    • Participate in the follow-up process to ensure timely implementation of audit recommendations.
    • Engage in cross-functional reviews—financial, operations, compliance, IT, and investigation.

    Requirements

    • 0-3 years’ experience in an Internal Audit role
    • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Accounting, or a related field.
    • Basic understanding of IT Controls, Information Security, or IT audit roles within the financial services industry.
    • Familiarity with auditing frameworks (e.g., COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001) will be an advantage.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Meet, Forms).
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in auditing.

    Operational Risk Loss Data & Business Continuity Officer

    Role Overview

    • To identify, assess and mitigate inherent and residual risks to acceptable limits as well as emerging risks in the business environment

    Responsibilities

    • Collect and analyze operational risk loss data from across the bank, identifying trends, patterns, and key risk areas
    • Prepare detailed reports on operational losses, risk exposures, and incidents for executive management, making recommendations for improvement.
    • Conduct products and process risk identification/ assessment and prepare risk assessment reports
    • Continuously monitor and assess the performance of products, identifying any emerging risks or vulnerabilities and recommending corrective actions.
    • Champion Business Continuity Plan (BCP) implementation to ensure continuity of critical operations during disruptions.
    • Conduct Business Impact Assessments to identify and prioritize business functions that are critical to operations, ensuring effective recovery strategies.
    • Ensure the BCP aligns with industry regulations (e.g., ISO 22301) and is regularly updated to meet changing requirements.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to develop disaster recovery plans for critical systems and data, ensuring rapid recovery during system failures or cyber incidents.
    • Conduct scenario analysis in line with the standards stated in the Scenario Analysis Framework at ORMC Meetings
    • Perform environmental scanning and advise Management on risks to the Business, conduct research and propose new ideas to aid management of Op-Risk
    • Prepare reports for MRC and BRMC presentations.
    • Anchor ORMC meetings to promote risk management knowledge and culture among Risk Champions

    Requirements

    • First Degree in numerate/Social sciences.
    • Minimum of 2 years cognate experience preferably in audit or banking industry
    • Proficient knowledge of banking operations and product
    • Good knowledge of operational risk management process & techniques

    Job Overview:

    • Engage current and potential customers to provide support, ensure customer satisfaction and retention towards the fulfilment of the strategic goal of the business at large.
