    Hygiene Officer

    Job Decription

    • We are currently looking to fill the role of Hygiene Officer who will be responsible to ensure quality implementation of the Public Health Promotion and Non-Food Items distribution of the WASH project.

    Key Responsibilities

    • In coordination with the WASH Programme Manager, revising and adapting hygiene promotion training and IEC materials in line with the local context (should be drawn up as a communication plan) and in line with target groups to be trained;
    • Continually assessing emergency needs, as requested, especially taking in the broader perspective of public health;
    • Plan beneficiary selection and registration, and lead the distribution of NFI kits with the Field Assistant team;
    • Prepare training tools on relevant technical topics and conduct trainings for both internal staff and external stakeholders;
    • Assist the WASH  Program Manager in the development of technical guidelines and tools for hygiene promotion services;
    • Representing the organization at local level WASH meetings and technical working groups relating to Public health promotion and NFI distribution as required by your line manager;
    • Setting performance missions for staff under direct management, conducting one-to-one meetings and performance appraisal in line with Action Against Hunger performance management policies as well as identifying areas where support and capacity building is required;
    • Ensure team coordination and integration with other WASH technical team members.

    Position Requirements

    • Minimum of Diploma in Health, Hygiene, and Sanitation related field;
    • Previous experience in supervising hygiene promotion activities;
    • Capacity to be adaptable and flexible;
    • Three years of relevant work experience;
    • Microsoft Office software skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word);
    • Willing and ability to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited;
    • Fluency in  English Hausa, Kanuri, and Shuwa language.
    • Experience working in an emergency program(RRM) will be an added advantage

    Hygiene Assistant

    Job Descriptipn

    • We are currently looking to fill the role of Hygiene Assistant who will be responsible for the Implementation of hygiene promotion and distribution of NFI.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Continues assessment of the hygiene need and practices of the targeted communities;
    • Assisting the Hygiene Officer in conducting home visits and visits to the community (schools, community gathering etc.) to identify gaps in terms of hygiene, sanitation and use of water;
    • Assisting the Hygiene Officer in preparing training modules for the promotion of hygiene in the communities;
    • Training and managing hygiene volunteers to conduct house to house session;
    • Organize and conduct FGDs on identified critical hygiene issues in the communities;
    • Mobilizing communities to adopt safe hygiene practices as promoted by the project (hand washing facilities, environmental cleanliness drainage cleanliness);
    • Organize and conduct mass campaigns against cholera and other infectious diseases;
    • Disseminate cholera prevention messages to cholera case and neighboring;
    • Sensitize the beneficiaries of cholera kits on how to use the content (eg use of aquatabs);
    • Assisting the Hygiene Officer to distribute NFI kits to registered beneficiaries.

    Position Requirements

    • Minimum of National Diploma in Health, Hygiene, and Sanitation related field;
    • Previous experience in supervising hygiene promotion and community mobilization;
    • Capacity to be adaptable and flexible;
    • Willing and ability to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited;
    • Fluency in  English Hausa, and Fulfude language.

    Starting Basic Salary

    • NGN 216,006 / Month (excluding other benefits)

    Energy Officer

    Position Details

    Reporting to: Deputy Head of Department Logistics - Infrastructure

    Proposed start date: November 2022

    Work location: Abuja, FCT

    Starting Basic Salary: 421,594 NGN per month (excluding other benefits)

    Key responsibilities:

    • Building electrical assessment using the diagnosis tool of Action Against Hunger, local regulation, and rules of the art;
    • Design works to be done to ensure that electrical installations are stable and safe for persons and equipment;
    • Write technical specifications in case of subcontracting works concerning heavy rehabilitations;
    • Conduct check on energy system for energy production;
    • Verify generators are in good working condition, report when maintenance is not done properly, report if installation condition need to be adapted;
    • Diagnose malfunctioning power supply equipment and report faults/findings;
    • Function as the team lead for all electrification project if carried out internally;
    • Supervise all electrification project undertaken by a third party;
    • Propose and budget for all expected electrification project;
    •  Request necessary means to perform emergency works when hazardous situation is discovered;
    • Perform emergency works and repairs after getting appropriate means (parts and/or budget).

    Position Requirements:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor degree/Higher National Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related fields;
    • Professional certificate(s) and/or trainings in the energy/electrical field;
    • Licensed by at least 1 local engineering regulatory body (COREN, NSE);
    • Minimum of 4 years work experience in similar responsibilities is required;
    • Previous experience working for NGOs an asset, particularly international related NGOs;
    • Capacity for analysis, synthesis and reporting of large amounts of information;
    • Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, rigorous, self-motivated, strong sense of responsibility, ability to work independently;
    • Strong verbal, written and communication skills, approachable, diplomatic, able to maintain confidentiality, able to work effectively in diverse, cross-cultural teams in a complex, multi-site work environment;
    • Fluency in English.

    Safeguarding Expert

    Responsibilities

    Under the supervision of the Country Director, the Safeguarding Expert is required to lead the development and implementation of safeguarding policy across the AAH Nigeria mission as well as developing a mission-wide strategy in that matter.

    More precisely your missions will be :

    • Ensure a strategic approach in the crosscutting implementation of the Safeguarding policies
    • Ensure the efficiency of the alert mechanisms and alert management of SEA allegations and Respect of code of conduct
    • Ensure the integration of Safeguarding standards in AAH relations with communities, partners and suppliers
    • Ensure the integration of Safeguarding in AAH programming
    • Reporting Responsibilities : Track all activities related to PSEA and ensure that all information on activities are shared with relevant people. Report regularly on the safeguarding policy deployment and disseminate the supportive documents and notes from various activities. Maintain accurate data on reported incidents for general reporting and strengthening initiatives to address SEA.
    • Additional Responsibilities : This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive and the employee will also perform other related tasks as required and be responsible for reporting and communication of progress and achievement of the specific assigned task. Maintenance of high technical standards. Conduct all duties in a professional manner following Action Against Hunger Nigeria mission staff regulations, Action Against Hunger mandate and charter including promotion of gender equality.

    Requested profile

    • Depth knowledge of the protection framework
    • The prevention and the fight against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA)
    • The IASC's Six Fundamental Principles of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
    • Field experience in humanitarian and / or development contexts of a minimum of 3 years
    • Experience working with a wide variety of stakeholders, including INGO / NGO coordination
    • Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality measures
    • Proven integrity, objectivity and professional competence
    • Demonstrated sensitivity to cultural diversity and gender issues;
    • Experience in developing and facilitating training and capacity-building activities is an advantage.
    • Very good capacity to organize his/her work in emergency situations
    • This position may include working occasionally during weekends (in case of a critical incident)

    • •   With a team size of approximately 400 at the mission level. This role requires high level of management and leadership skills and the ability to work in sensitive cultural environments
    • Specific conditions / Salary
    • 12 Months fixed term contract under French legislation
    • Monthly gross salary from 2450 to 2800€ upon experience
    • Monthly per diem and living allowance : 754 USD net, field paid
    • Monthly country allowance : 450€  
    • Child allowance : 1500€ per year per child present in the country of origin (maximum 6000€/year)
    • 16% of the gross monthly salary for pension insurance reimbursement for non-French citizens
    • Transportation and accommodation : Coverage of transportation costs and guest house
    • Medical coverage : 100% coverage of health contributions (social security + health insurance) and repatriation insurance
    • Leaves and RnR : 25 days of paid leaves per year, 20 RnR per year and 215 € at each RnR period
