    HSE Officer

    Job Description

    • To assist in the implementation and maintenance of a sound quality assurance system and continual improvement of Health, Safety and Environment compliance in IBEDC.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Follow-up on compliance with health and safety policies, processes, procedures and guideline.  
    • Carryout hazard hunting activities region-wide, suggest effective control measures and monitor all recommendations for non-conformances to prevent occurrence/reoccurrence as the case may be.  
    • Support the implementation of culture-changing tools, techniques and programs towards a sustainable change.
    • Apply, monitor and measure all health and safety loss prevention programs, such as accident prevention plan, HSE Meetings, Safety Toolbox talk, job hazard analysis workshop, trainings, inspection and audit programs.
    • Carryout minor accident and Near miss investigations to establish the Root Cause of occurrence, recommend remedial measures to avoid reoccurrence and draw learning points to sensitize staff against such.
    • Identify and report trending and data analysis of Business Hubs/Service Units for escalation where the need arises.
    • Prepares periodic and ad-hoc health and safety reports in accordance with relevant stipulations/guidelines.
    • Ensure adherence to standards and regulations by incorporating relevant occupational health safety and environmental legislations in IBEDC’s operation / activities Business Hub-wide.
    • Support the implementation of programs that promote federal, state and local safety & environmental regulations.
    • Inspects installed machineries to check for effectiveness of safety devices.
    • Inspection of protection schemes to ensure compliance, effective documentation and storage.
    • Ensure close out of all recommendations for non-conformances (Near miss & accident investigations, inspections, Audit, regulatory e. t. c) to prevent reoccurrence.
    • Manage the storage, reuse, recycle & disposal of residual and hazardous wastes.
    • Implement process and product safety standard that will eliminate or reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological hazards.

    Job Requirements

    • A First Degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or any related discipline.
    • A postgraduate degree in any related discipline is an added advantage.
    • Membership of relevant professional bodies. (ISPON); (BCSP); (ISHM).
    • At least 5 years’ experience in the HSE field within a relevant industry (Utilities, oil and gas, telecommunications etc.).

    Lead, AMI Administrator

    Job Description

    • This job role manages configuration and integration of meters into the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) System and ensures all data from the meters are analyzed to provide visibility for business decision.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Oversees the configuration and integration of smart electricity meters into AMI headend system.  
    • Coordinates team members to carry out on-site configuration of offline installed DT Meters across the business coverage areas, and ensure meters are online and read remotely from the AMI System.
    • Maintains quality data upload into the AMI database and ensure high availability of the AMI system.
    • Supervises the monitoring and detection of meter data anomalies on the AMI platform and provide necessary guidelines to team members on data quality and accuracy.
    • Ensure integration of AMI system with other enterprise business applications.  
    • Liaises with stakeholders on necessary technical support on the AMI application.
    • Analyze load profile data of installed Distribution Transformer Meters and escalate identified power quality anomaly to the Technical Department for maintenance and power grid improvement.  
    • Provide monthly and on-demand energy consumption report to Regional Managers, Billing department to guide the business on revenue collection and monthly energy billing.
    • Report any fraud event captured by the AMI System on installed Meters to Asset and Revenue Protection department for proper investigation and monitoring.  
    • Ensure Meters are properly converted from manufacturing default supply group code (SGC) into IBEDC vending code to allow successful loading on tokens generated from IBEDC vending application.  
    • Perform remote connect/disconnect, firmware upgrades and health checks, review tampering alerts, and analyze meter data etc from the AMI platform.

    Job Requirements

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or any similar area of study.
    • At least 3 years working experience in Technology, Engineering or Communication systems.
    • Professional certifications is required.
    • Certification in Project management is an advantage.

    Lines Worker

    Job Description

    • This job role is to ensure that all overhead lines are fault free as stipulated for system stability aimed at achieving business success.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Inspect lines, poles and escalate abnormalities to Technical Supervisor.
    • Construction of overhead and underground networks (LV/HV).
    • Maintains and service overhead and underground networks of 33kV, 11kV and 0.415kV.
    • Ensure the use of Personal Protective Equipment and work in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Operate Isolators, Ring Main Unit or any other line sectionalizing equipment/apparatus as directed.
    • Carryout Fuse replacement and load balancing on Distribution Substation as required. Perform any other duty as requested by the Technical Supervisor.

    Job Requirements

    • Technical Certificate in Electrical Installations & Maintenance or its equivalents (i.e. NABTEB, London City & Guilds, Diploma Certificates) or Ordinary level certificate.
    • Relevant professional certification or qualification would be an added advantage.
    • At least 2-4 years’ experience within the Utilities industry or a closely related industry.

    AMI Administrator

    Job Description

    Job Requirements

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or any similar area of study.
    • 1 to 3 years working experience in Technology, Engineering or Communication systems.

    Meter Standard Officer (LVMD)

    Job Responsibilities

    • This job role acts as a primary field contact in coordinating LVMD and DT metering operations across the franchise in line with IBEDC’s metering standard to ensure energy accountability and reduction of losses.
    • Implementation of LVMD and DT metering projects.  
    • Report Project status and escalate issues on metering when required.  
    • Coordinates the installation and maintenance of LVMD and DT meters .  
    • Testing of newly supplied LVMD and DT meters in line with IBEDCs standards.   
    • Designs and implements LVMD and DT metering Services processes and recommend appropriately.
    • Supervises metering vendors and compiles reports.  
    • Prepares periodic and ad-hoc reports to relavant stakeholders.
    • Carry out other sundry assignments as directed by the Lead, Meter Standards & Installation.

    Job Requirements

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or any related field.
    • A postgraduate professional certificate in relevant field. (Added advantage).
    • Membership of relevant professional bodies.
    • At least 5 years of practical experience in commercial, metering and energy analysis in a power company.
