    Heavy Earth Moving Machine (HEMM) - Engineer / Technician

    Job Summary

    • The Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and optimal performance of heavy equipment such as Excavators, Dozers, Wheel Loaders, Pay Loaders, Cranes, Graders, Forklifts, and other earth-moving machinery.
    • The role ensures maximum equipment availability, reliability, safety, and operational efficiency while adhering to company standards and industry best practices.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, supervise, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities on HEMM equipment.
    • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulicand pneumatic faults on heavy machinery.
    • Conduct routine inspections and condition monitoring to identify potential equipment failures.
    • Analyze equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase reliability and productivity.
    • Develop maintenance schedules and ensure timely execution of maintenance plans.
    • Oversee equipment repairs, overhauls, and component replacements.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
    • Prepare maintenance reports, equipment history records, and technical documentation.
    • Coordinate with operations teams to minimize equipment downtime.
    • Manage spare parts requirements and ensure availability of critical components.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to technicians, mechanics, and operators.
    • Participate in equipment commissioning, testing, and acceptance inspections.
    • Monitor equipment utilization and recommend replacement or refurbishment when necessary.

    Requirements

    • B. Eng / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
    • 5–10 years' experience in maintenance and repair of heavy earth moving equipment.
    • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, powertrain systemsand diagnostics.
    • Experience working on equipment such as Excavators, Dozers, Wheel Loaders, Pay Loaders, Cranes, Graders, and Forklifts.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
    • Proficiency in maintenance planning and reporting software is an added advantage.
