    Head, Supply Chain & Procurement Management

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Head of Supply Chain and Procurement Management will be responsible for the development and implementation of effective supply chain and procurement strategies, processes and procedures to drive rapid improvement of the functions across the business.

    TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead the development and implementation of a strategy for the function including performance and cost.
    • Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth.
    • Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards.
    • Find cost-effective solutions for supply chain and procurement processes.
    • Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to land more profitable deals.
    • Monitor supply chain logistics to make sure they run smoothly.
    • Maintain supply chain inventory and records.
    • Evaluate and report on KPIs.
    • Train and guide employees

    Requirements

    LEADERSHIP AND FUNCTIONAL CAPABILITY

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supply or Business Degree.
    • Related professional certifications is most required, (The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply)
    • A minimum of 20 years’ experience in similar role within Cement Manufacturing or FMCG Businesses.
    • Strategic Thinking, Planning, Financial and Project Management skills
    • Job knowledge of continuous improvement tools such as Lean Six Sigma.
    • Experience working in a multiple location organisation or Group of Companies will be an advantage.

    General Manager, Quality Assurance, Research & Dev. Gboko

    Description

    Oversee and coordinate product testing and inspection process for DCP products to ensure optimal quality of final products is achieved and pre-determined standards of production are maintained. Oversee the implementation of ISO systems for quality management systems.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Drive the implementation of organization-wide quality control and ISO processes including Quality Management Systems (QMS).
    • Prepare and drive the implementation of the annual Quality Control Plan for the plant.
    • Ensure that production quality control processes are implemented in line with agreed upon procedures and guidelines.
    • Supervise laboratory operations to ensure precision in the sample testing process for raw materials, intermediate products, final products, oil, water, gas, etc. and appropriate calibration of equipments.
    • Ensure all set product quality targets are met and deviations from target quality standards are promptly identified and rectified.
    • Coordinate the weaning and pilling of cement raw materials; and control of chemical parameters.
    • Liaise with process control operatives with regards to the quality control parameters for semi-finished (Raw meal and Clinker) and final products.
    • Support the Plant Director in ensuring final product meet quality specifications and agreed standards.
    • Ensure preventive maintenance is carried out on laboratory equipments and effective housekeeping is conducted in the laboratories.
    • Prepare annual calibration schedule and ensure calibration is carried out on laboratory equipments as scheduled.
    • Manage the interface between the QA/QC function and other relevant departments within the plant.
    • Provide overall guidance, leadership and strategic direction to the country plant QA/ QC team.
    • Provide periodic reports on the activities and performance of the plant QA/ QC function for the attention of the Plant Director.
    • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Plant Director

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering.
    • Postgraduate/relevant professional qualification.
    • Minimum of 21 years relevant work experience.

    CCR Operators - Cement Industry Gboko

    Description

    • Responsible for Plant Operation and Process Control of the Kilns, Raw Mills, Cement Mills and Coal Mills.
    • Coordination, Supervision and Training of all other CCR Operators.
    • Executing the operation, in the shift, of Raw Mill, Kiln, Cement & Coal Mills and auxiliaries’ equipment from the Central Control Room (CCR)
    • Coaching and Training of new hire CCR operators to execute operational initiatives for increasing production and reducing cost of production.
    • Co-ordination of autonomous maintenance with the help of shift patrollers to achieve the targeted availability of plant for production of raw meal, clinker and cement.

    • Ensure Implementation of ISO Systems and Safety Standards in Production Department.
    • Ensuring that the quality of the product going out from his department conforms with internal quality specifications.
    • Assessing self-development needs and taking action on improvement areas identified.
    • Relieves other Kiln CCR operator when on leave.
    • Additional duties as assigned by the Management.

    Requirements

    Education and Work Experience

    • B.Sc./HND in a relevant Chemical Engineering discipline, Dip in Cement Technology or its equivalent
    • 2 – 3 years’ relevant work experience in the cement or related industry.

    Drill Operator

    Job Summary

    We are looking for a Drill Operator who will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of drilling machines to bore blast holes in open-pit mines and quarries.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Drive and operate tracked or truck-mounted rotary drilling, air-track or other drilling machines to bore large blast holes to specified depths at staked positions in open-pit mines or quarries.
    • Before the commencement of operation and at the close of shift, you should go around the machine and ensure the roadworthiness of the machine and operation. any incident report to the superior.
    • Operate drilling machines to drill blast holes.
    • Operate tracked or truck-mounted drill equipped with auger or other attachments to drill holes for building foundations or pilings.
    • May measure location and stake out pattern of holes to be drilled, load blast holes with explosives, and detonate explosives to dislodge limestone or rock.
    • Ensure adherence to HSE procedures and regulations in the performance of duties.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor and Drilling Engineer from time to time.

    Requirements

    Education

    • A Trade Test or its equivalent or a related discipline.
    • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience.

    General Manager, Mechanical - Cement Industry Gboko

    Job Summary

    To manage all needs of the mechanical department , for effective and efficient operation in order to meet the plant set targets. Creating and implementing maintenance procedures. Conducting regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Responsible for mechanical planning, operation and entire management of the entire mechanical maintenance of the plant.
    • Additional duties as assigned by the management.
    • Supervise the utilization of plant resources in the production unit to ensure uninterrupted plant operations and employee/plant safety.
    • Assessing performance of subordinates and providing necessary feedback for their development to Human Assets Department.

    • Plant Performance Reviews and Analysis with a view to enhancing production output, efficiency and cost reduction.
    • Planning and Implementation of Mechanical Maintenance, Capital and Revenue Budget.
    • Coordination of all maintenance activities to ensure Plant availability, with direct responsibility for supervision of refractory maintenance.

    Requirements

    Education and Work Experience

    • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field
    • Minimum of twenty-seven (21) years of work experience.
    • Professional qualification/membership in relevant and recognized bodies will be an added advantage.
