    Head of Finance and Account

    Job Summary

    • As the Head of Finance and Accounts in the microfinance banking sector, you will lead and oversee all financial operations, accounting functions, and regulatory compliance within the organization.
    • Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the sound financial management of the institution and adherence to industry standards.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the institution's goals and regulatory requirements.
    • Guide budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support sustainable growth.
    • Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and accounting principles.
    • Lead the financial reporting process, providing insights to aid decision-making at the executive level.
    • Implement robust internal controls to manage financial risks effectively.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, policies, and standards governing microfinance banking operations.
    • Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous development.
    • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with other departments to achieve financial goals.
    • Supervise treasury operations, optimizing liquidity, and managing cash flow effectively.
    • Monitor investment activities and financial instruments to maximize returns while mitigating risks.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) and MCIB (Microfinance Certified Banker) qualifications are mandatory.
    • Proven experience in a senior finance role within the microfinance banking sector, demonstrating a strong understanding of industry practices and regulations.
    • Proficiency in using Bank One software or similar banking software for financial operations.
    • Sound knowledge of financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to drive financial initiatives and influence stakeholders.

    Wealth Manager

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Achieve the assigned individual AUM target for the period.
    • Advising clients on financial products and services
    • Review clients' portfolio and plans regularly to determine whether life changes, economic changes, environmental concerns, or financial performance indicate a need for plan reassessment.
    • Managing Investment and Assets.
    • Recommend to clients, strategies in cash management, investment planning or other areas to help them achieve their financial goals.
    • Implement financial recommendations and assist with plan implementation.
    • Contact clients periodically to determine any changes in their financial status.
    • Investigate available investment opportunities to determine compatibility with client’s financial plan.
    • Monitor financial market trends to ensure that client’s plans are responsive.
    • Devise debt liquidation plans that include payoff priorities and timelines.
    • Analyze Financial information with client to learn about their financial goals, risk tolerance and current asset allocation.
    • Provide financial advisory to high net-worth clients on the ideal asset allocation structure.
    • Ensure all regulatory compliance requirements are strictly observed and followed.
    • Monitor capital market trends/development and provide relevant market insight to support the investment decision making process.
    • Optimize the use of technological tools to improve investment management process and operational efficiency.
    • Act as a good ambassador of the organization through proper conduct always to portray the organization in good light.
    • Utilize tactical negotiation skills to improve funding cost of the fixed income portfolio and other funds under management.
    • Develop a weekly strategic prospecting plan and share with the Head, Wealth Management
    • Report all feedback from clients to the Head, Wealth Management.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • ​Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Marketing, or related fields
    • Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
    • Professional qualification/membership from a reputable institution
    • Minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience in a similar role within the asset
    • management industry is highly desirable
    • Strong business acumen to be able to recognize and interpret commercial opportunities.
    • Strategic thinker and ability to analyze and solve problems quickly.
    • Ability to influence various key stakeholders in referring and cross offering potential business opportunities for sustainable business growth.
    • Highly agile in learning, adapting to an ever changing business environment, and with strong ability to cope with fast, dynamic pace.
