Job Responsibilities
Primary Role:

• Lead the accounting and reporting function
• Managing a strong control environment and ensure all procedures are in compliance with Lotus Capital Limited and financial control policies
• Develop strong relationships with the internal clients, and provide superior client service to both internal and external clients
• Proper implementation of IFRS, internal control system, risk management framework, tax laws and any other relevant statutes in the recording, valuation, presentation and reporting of all financial matter in the group.
• Weekly preparation and presentation of Group performance report to the finance Manager
• Monthly preparation and presentation of the MPR
• Quarterly preparation and submission of the Board report to the finance Manager within 48 hours after the end of the quarter.
• Quarterly preparation and filing of all the statutory returns to Securities and Exchange Commission.
• Liaise with the SEC, tax authorities and any other government agencies to resolve any queries they might have
• Present an error free financial data for the annual audit within two weeks after the end of the financial year and complete the annual fund audit within 7 weeks after the end of the financial year.
• Coordinate all the scheduled and un-scheduled examination of the company records by the regulators or any government agency
• Work with the portfolio managers and the treasury unit to ensure that there is no idle fund in the portfolio assets.
• Work closely with various business units - Investment & Research Department, legal team etc. and partner with Business development teams to meet client needs
• Work with IT units to improve on the processes that will achieve a seamless operation.
• Work closely with legal unit to ensure all the business and financial matters do not contravene any regulatory rules or guidelines.

Secondary Role:

• Work with the subsidiary Accountants on intercompany transactions, treasury management, cost management, budget administration, tax matters, financial matters, annual audit and ensure they maintain an up-to-date record and produce management account at the end of the month.
• Work closely with the head of Fund accounting and develop capability to stand in for the head of fund accounting.
• Other duties that may be assigned by the CFO.

Qualifications

• BSc or HND in Economics or Accounting
• The candidate must be a Chartered Accountant with minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in audit or capital market industry
• Knowledge of Islamic finance is an added advantage.

Responsibilities
Team Lead:

• Provide leadership and ensure efficient and effective management of staff and resources in the Financial Control Unit; and
• Act as main point of contact with the company’s auditors and tax consultants;

Financial Strategy, Reporting and Control:

• Adequate and timely financial, Treasury, MPR, Investment Committee, and Management and Board reports;
• Using Power Business Intelligence technology, prepare and present financial and statistical reports for Management use;
• Ensure adequate financial control and compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations and standards;
• Establish a financial strategy to support the implementation of the company’s objectives;

Filing of returns:

• Prompt and accurate filing of weekly, monthly, and quarterly returns to SEC, NSE, trustees, and NFIU;

Treasury Management:

• Ensure that all company funds are efficiently invested;

Fund Accounting Operations:

• Ensure all fund accounting operations are properly managed and the reports are accurate and timely submitted to all the stakeholders

Budget:

• Prepare annual and other supplementary budgets;
• Generate input for the annual financial plan and budget of the company;

Cost Control:

• Supervise expenditure and cost control;

Others:

• Analyze and interpret financial data and recommend changes to improve systems and financial performance;
• Work with the CFO to generate income to accomplish the company’s short-term long long-term vision
• Optimisation of Power Business Intelligence tools.

Qualifications

• B.Sc / HND in Economics or Accounting

Responsibilities
Team Lead:

Functional
Cash management:

• Overseeing the day-to-day cash flow, ensuring the company has enough funds to meet customer withdrawals and other financial obligations.

Investment portfolio management:

• Active management of the portfolio in various shariah compliant financial instruments like sukuk (bonds), fixed income instruments etc. to generate optimal returns while managing risk.
• Track market movements to take and square off positions in domestic and forex markets.
• Oversee the execution of deals for investing, trading, and funding, ensure trades are captured in the system to trigger position updates

Liquidity risk management:

• Monitoring and managing the portfolio's ability to meet short-term funding needs, ensuring access to necessary capital in volatile market conditions.

Market risk management:

• Analyzing and mitigating risks associated with fluctuations in interest rates, exchange rates, and other market factors.

Funding strategy development:

• Identifying and securing various sources of funding, including deposits and capital markets, to meet the company's financial requirements.

Financial reporting and analysis:

• Preparing and presenting financial reports to senior management, analyzing financial performance, and identifying potential risks and opportunities.

Regulatory compliance:

• Ensuring the company adheres to all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements related to treasury activities.

Others:

• Work with the Finance Director to generate income to accomplish the company’s short-term to long-term funding and return Optimisation objective

Qualifications

• B.Sc or HND in Economic / Finance / Accounting
• Minimum of 7 years treasury management experience in the banking industry or capital market
• Knowledge of Islamic finance is an added advantage
• Professional qualification e.g CFA, ACA etc are added advantage.
