About the Organization

A well-established business services organization with operations supporting large corporate clients is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional to join its Finance and Business Support team.

The organization operates in a high-volume environment involving significant financial, employee and operational data and is continuing to strengthen its reporting, analytics and business intelligence capabilities.

We are looking for an individual who is comfortable working with large datasets, understands basic accounting principles, and can transform financial and operational information into accurate reports and useful management insights.

The Role

The Financial Data & Reporting Analyst will support Management by analyzing financial and operational information, performing reconciliations, reviewing data accuracy and developing reports that improve business visibility and decision-making.

The successful candidate will work across multiple datasets and business functions and will be expected to identify discrepancies, investigate variances and provide clear analytical reports to Management.

This position will suit someone who combines strong Excel and data-analysis skills with a good understanding of accounting and financial information.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large financial and operational datasets and provide meaningful management insights.
• Perform regular reconciliations across multiple data sources.
• Review financial and operational information for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
• Compare source information against processed data and investigate material variances.
• Analyze employee-related, operational and financial datasets.
• Develop exception and variance reports for Management.
• Identify unusual trends, inconsistencies and recurring data patterns requiring further review.
• Support monthly financial and management reporting.
• Assist with the validation of schedules and supporting documentation.
• Maintain accurate reconciliation and review records.
• Develop Excel-based analytical tools and templates to improve reporting efficiency.
• Support the automation of recurring reconciliation and reporting activities.
• Develop dashboards and management reports for monitoring key business indicators.
• Work with Finance, HR, Operations and other departments to resolve data discrepancies.
• Perform periodic data-quality reviews.
• Support Management with special analytical assignments and business reviews.
• Recommend improvements to reporting, data management and reconciliation processes.

Qualifications

• BSc/HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Approximately 3–6 years of relevant professional experience.
• Previous experience in accounting, finance, audit, reporting, reconciliation or data analysis is desirable.
• Experience working with large financial or operational datasets will be an advantage.
• Professional accounting qualifications or progress towards ACA, ACCA or ICAN will be an added advantage but are not mandatory.

Technical Skills

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.

Candidates should be comfortable with:

• Pivot Tables
• Lookup and reconciliation functions
• SUMIFS / COUNTIFS
• Data validation and cleaning
• Conditional formatting
• Complex spreadsheet analysis
• Power Query

Knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Python, ERP systems or other data-analysis tools will be an added advantage.

The assessment will evaluate analytical reasoning, reconciliation ability, attention to detail and the candidate's ability to interpret financial and operational information.

Renumerations:

Remuneration: ₦7.2 million – ₦9.6 million per annum + HMO, Pension and Other Benefits.
