    Reporting to: Chairman, Governing Board

    Job Role

    • The Rector shall be responsible for the management of the College.
    • He/she shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the College and provide leadership for the College in a collaborative manner with other Heads of Departments in the College.

    Responsibilities

    • Be a member of the College Management Team
    • Chair the College Executive Management Committee
    • Promote and develop good governance within the College, compatible with and supportive of overall College governance structures and policies
    • Lead the strategic development of the College, and represent the College in meetings with external stakeholders
    • Lead initiatives in collaboration with academic units, to attain national and international visibility / recognition for the College
    • Diversify the income stream of the College away from traditional sources
    • Support the enhancement of research and research centres and institutes within the College.

    Qualifications and Experience
    Candidates must have:

    • A PhD in the Social Sciences
    • Professional qualifications in insurance
    • Minimum of 10 years experience in insurance business practices and/or lecturing
    • Possess academic skills and standing
    • Strong analytical skills and aptitude
    • Strong personality.

    Head of Academics, College of Insurance

    Reporting to: Rector

    Job Role

    • The role of the Head of an Academie Department is to provide academic leadership for officers in the Academic department to achieve the highest possible standards of excellence in all its activities.
    • He/She is required to exercise leadership, demonstrate vision, and empower others to deliver the agreed departmental strategy within the College.

    Responsibilities

    • Leadership and Management: To advance the academic strategy of the College.
    • Responsibility for Training and Students: To ensure the best possible student experience
    • People Management: Ensure effective implementation of HR policies in Academic Dept.
    • Financial Management: Preparation and execution of training budgets
    • Quality Assurance: Ensure highest possible standards in all academic activities
    • Development of Academic / Research Standing: Develop training programmes in line with training needs of the insurance industry and coordinate all College research activities.

    Qualifications and Experience
    Candidates must have:

    • At least M.Sc. Degree in the Social Sciences (PhD would be an advantage)
    • Professional qualifications in insurance
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in insurance business / practices and/or lecturing
    • Possess academic skills and standing
    • Strong analytical skills and aptitude

    Head of Administration

    Reporting to: Head of Finance and Administration

    Job Role

    • To oversee office operations and administrative staff members.
    • Shall manage hiring, training and evaluating staff develop, review, and improve policies, systems, and procedures;  and generally, ensure the office operates smoothly and efficiently.
    • Shall also be responsible for the management of all College facilities which include Conference / Event Halls and accommodation.

    Responsibilities

    • Developing, reviewing, and improving administrative systems, policies, and procedures
    • Ensuring the office is stocked with necessary supplies and all equipment is working and properly maintained.
    • Working with the finance and management teams to set budgets, monitor spending and process payroll and other expenses
    • Planning, scheduling, and promoting office events, including meetings, conferences, interviews, orientations etc.
    • Manage all facilities and ensure budgets projections are achieved.
    • Collecting, organizing, and storing information using computers and filing systems.
    • Overseeing special projects and tracking progress towards company goals.
    • Building and expanding on skills by engaging in educational opportunities.

    Qualifications and Experience
    Candidates must have:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field
    • Professional qualification and experience in a related field, such as human resources and management
    • Exceptional leadership and time, task, and resource management skills
    • Strong problem solving critical thinking, coaching, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office
    • Ability to plan for and keep track of multiple projects and deadlines
    • Familiarity with budget planning and enforcement, human resources, and customer service procedures.
    • Willingness to continue building skills through educational opportunities.
