Summary:
The U.S. Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Established Opinion Leaders Exchanges Coordinator in the Public Diplomacy office.
Duties
The Established Opinion Leaders (EOL) Exchanges Coordinator coordinates the Embassy’s exchange programs for EOL audiences in the Embassy Abuja consular district, including individuals and organizations such as think tanks, professional associations, civil society organizations, and academic institutions. Designs, plans, implements, and evaluates the impact of a broad range of activities and initiatives for engaging EOL audiences in the Embassy Abuja consular district.
Education Requirements: A University degree in International Relations, American Studies, Communications, Political Science, Economics, or local equivalent is required.
NYSC Certificate/Exclusion/Exemption document is required.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in communications, public engagement management, or education duties as components of the work is required. Prior experience in an international, academic, or governmental work environment is required
Job Knowledge:
A thorough understanding of the attitudes and preferences of EOL audiences in Nigeria, including the regional, ethnic, social, cultural, linguistic, and other factors and institutions that shape those attitudes, is required. Detailed knowledge of Nigerian higher education, business, and professional exchange programs is required. Knowledge of typical customer service and marketing tools designed to engage specific audience segments, particularly the EOL sector, in Nigeria is required.
Knowledge of the latest trends in audience engagement in related public service institutions, such as think tanks, academic institutions, professional training institutes, and government, is required. An understanding of the complex and changing nature of the information environment, including current trends in international and regional communications as they relate to the Nigerian communication landscape, is required. Must be familiar with digital practices and procedures used by or influential with the Nigerian EOL sector.

The U.S. Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Administrative Assistant position in the Consular section.
Duties
The incumbent is primarily an office manager who fulfills a variety of functions. In addition to organizing the Consular Section Chief’s schedule and correspondence, the incumbent also serves as the Consular Section’s expert on the Embassy’s automated travel, time & attendance, MyServices, and procurement systems. The incumbent provides exceptional customer service to the many VIPs applying for visas and provides complete and accurate information in response to inquiries.
Education Requirements: Completion of two (2) years of College or University studies is required.
Experience: Three (3) years relevant work experience in general administrative or customer service work dealing with diplomatic missions, NGOs, government offices, or private sector companies is required.
Job Knowledge: Keen awareness of Nigerian culture, particularly the travel culture of Nigerians and the working culture of Nigeria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is required.
