    Programmes Manager

    • LEAP Africa is a non profit organization focused on  raising dynamic, innovative and principled leaders who will drive positive transformation in Africa. We provide relevant and tailored interventions that support effective youth transitions in the areas of education, entrepreneurship & employability, civic participation and social mobility for young Africans.
    • We are on a strategic journey towards building a world-class institution that seeks to be an ecosystem builder, a thought leader and a development hub for young people. We are seeking to hire a Programme Manager to support the achievement of the organization's strategic goals of  LEAP Africa in 2025 and beyond!

    CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Report to and work closely with the Director of Programmes and the Programmes Committee in the planning and implementation of all LEAP’s programmes in line with the organization's vision and mission.
    • Coordinate all programme design and conceptualisation activities, curriculum development and updates, and the creation of development-focused products and services for stakeholders.
    • Support the development and implementation of comprehensive strategies for the Programmes Unit.
    • Track and manage all programme deliverables in line with scope, budget and timelines, ensuring efficient and transparent use of funds and effective project management of all programmes.
    • Serve as a trainer and facilitator in the delivery of LEAP’s training and other interventions, and also as a resource person for external speaking engagements both locally and internationally.
    • Be responsible for preparing, managing and controlling all programme budgets as it relates to funders and the organization.
    • Manage all activities of staff in the programmes unit, providing leadership and mentorship to programme staff, ensuring mutual familiarity with work plans and achievements of set objectives within project set timelines.
    • Participate actively in the fundraising efforts of the organization for the implementation of LEAP programmes and activities. Developing high-quality viable proposals to donors that are responsive to requirements, contain an accurate budget, and are conceptually coherent.
    • Cultivate and manage strategic relationships and partnerships with local and international partners.
    • Organize and ensure the successful implementation of LEAP’s annual conferences and flagship programmes.
    •  Effectively manage all LEAP Africa’s stakeholders and be the point of contact person.
    • Accountable for facilitating and tracking the sustainability (alumni) of all LEAP Africa's programmes.
    • Coordinate as well as develop system-level advocacy materials for programmes; create and contribute to  thought leadership materials such as articles, opinion pieces, and contributions to the organisation’s research products 
    • Manage and oversee the brand of all LEAP Africa's programmes, actively promoting LEAP Africa'’s services and impact through various media.
    • Support the fundraising efforts of the organization as it relates to the LEAP institute
    • Perform other tasks as may be required to further LEAP Africa’s strategic objectives and as assigned by your supervisor.

    The required candidate should possess the following:

    • Minimum of a university degree; Masters degree in any field is an added advantage.
    • 10 years of robust experience with a minimum of a university degree or 8 years of robust experience with a minimum of a Masters degree; experience in active engagement,  programme management or associated fields at a management level and at least, 5 years hands-on experience in youth leadership development,
    • Experience in programme design and delivery, policy analysis and monitoring and evaluation.
    • Think strategically with high creativity, conceptualisation and problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder projects and work in a team
    • Possess very good interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, and sound judgment.
    • Strong work ethic; Positive attitude, and willingness to travel locally and regionally.
    • Proficient in the use of MS Office suite, Google Suite, data entry and analysis tools
    • Excellent communication and speaking skills, both oral and written.
    • Great presentation and stakeholder management skills.
    • Performance-driven and mission-oriented.
    • Self-driven and motivated.

    Finance Coordinator

    CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Report to and work closely with the Senior Finance Coordinator
    • in leading the design, development, and implementation of finance functions and ensuring organizational effectiveness for LEAP Africa.
    • Prepare annual organizational budgets, monitoring all project and operational expenditures in line with the organization's approved budget and work plan, including using other financial control and evaluation techniques.
    • Preparation of internal and external monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, programme profit and loss reports, etc., working alongside the programme/project leads.
    • Ensure daily posting of financial records on the ERP platform, generating reports and insights, monitoring information and accuracy of records, and adhering to compliance with the internal control process by the entire team.
    • Control and manage cash flow requirements, quarterly cash flow statements, ensure liquidity and timely cash disbursement and ensure accurate supporting documents for all transactions, recording, and filing of documents.
    • Review monthly bank reconciliations, interface primarily with the bank on all LEAP’s accounts matters, and review accounting transactions to ensure compliance with relevant laws, policies, and procedures.
    • Support to establish and enforce proper process flow on accounting and internal control systems, payment, expense and retirement process, asset management, insurance, etc.
    • Coordinate investment activities, diversifying investment portfolio in line with policy thresholds, ensuring the best portfolio mix with viable returns on LEAP's fund.
    • Support to share financial risk management responsibilities
    • Support to monitor and analyze all financial and procurement activities in the organization; review relevant documents and reports; identify problems and issues; proffer and execute efficient solutions; work with relevant partners and track follow-up actions. 
    • Perform other organizational projects and tasks assigned supervisor and the leadership of the organization.

    Required Qualifications & Experience

    • Minimum of a university degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Master’s degree and/or professional certifications (ICAN, ACCA, CPA) strongly preferred.
    • At least 5 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or coordinator role.
    • Proven experience in budgeting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and investment portfolio management.
    • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, statutory compliance (LIRS, FIRS, SCMUL), and financial regulatory frameworks.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems, accounting software, MS Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
    • Experience in non-profit or development sector finance management is an advantage.

    Finance Officer

    • The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow their career in finance within the development sector. They will work closely with the Finance Coordinator and other cross-functional teams to support budgeting, reporting, payments, retirements, and audits, ensuring resources are managed efficiently and transparently in line with LEAP Africa’s vision and mission.

    CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Monitor and manage the process flow for funds requisition, ensuring timely disbursement of approved funds and availability of supporting documentation for all transactions in line with LEAP Africa’s financial policies.
    • Follow up on all requests, ensuring accurate recording, documentation, and filing of financial transactions.
    • Upload all approved payments and KYC documentation on GAPS in a timely manner.
    • Process transactions, requisitions, and purchase orders (POs) on the ERP system.
    • Interface with banks on all assigned project account matters, including daily transactions and approvals.
    • Work closely with LEAP Africa’s Finance Coordinator to provide financial support, track follow-up actions, and notify relevant persons with proposed solutions.
    • Support all asset management activities within the organization.
    • Prepare and maintain financial records, schedules, reconciliations, and postings on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
    • Ensure proper documentation and correct cost allocations for both project and operational financial transactions.
    • Ensure compliance with all internal and external financial regulations (LIRS, FIRS, SCMUL, etc.), including computation and processing of tax payments and returns.
    • Facilitate and ensure 100% retirement of all cash advances paid to employees.
    • Perform any other assigned tasks as assigned by supervisors.

    Required Qualifications & Experience

    • Minimum of a university degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; a Master’s degree and/or professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, CPA) is an added advantage.
    • 2-3 years of progressive work experience in finance and accounting, preferably in the non-profit or development sector.
    • Proven experience in funds management, bank relations, financial reporting, and compliance.
    • Experience with ERP systems, accounting software, and digital payment platforms.
    • Strong understanding of tax laws, statutory reporting, and financial regulatory requirements in Nigeria.
    • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
