    Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

    Job Introduction

    • Adexen has been mandated by a leading pan-African Manufacturer and Distributor of world-class medicine and medical supplies to recruit a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager. 

    Responsibilities

    • The Financial Planning Analysis Manager is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, and strategic planning with a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, including cost control, regulatory impact, and supply chain dynamics.
    •  
    • Lead the development of Annual Operating Plan/Budget, long range financial plans, and rolling forecasts in line with business objectives.
    • Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial teams to provide financial insights into plant operations, CAPEX projects, cost of sales, and gross margin optimization.
    • Monitor and analyze operational and financial performance, providing variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast) with clear explanations and action-oriented recommendations.
    • Develop complex financial models to support scenario planning, new product launches, plant efficiency initiatives, and strategic investments.
    • Analyze pricing strategy, product profitability, and cost-to-serve for various product lines.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to provide regular performance feedback to business units.
    • Provide financial advisory support to leadership on capital allocation, cost containment, and working capital optimization.
    • Support inventory valuation processes and work closely with the production finance team to ensure standard cost accuracy and cost accounting integrity.
    • Coach and develop junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance within the financial planning team.
    • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the CFO

    Desired Skills and Experience
    Qualification:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
    • Master’s degree or MBA in Finance is an added advantage
    • Professional certification: ACA, ACCA, or CFA is required.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 12 - 15 years of progressive financial planning and analysis experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role
    • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or FMCG is highly preferred
    • Strong background in cost accounting and plant finance operations.

    Managerial Experience:

    • Strong leadership and people development skills
    • Excellent communication and business partnering capabilities
    • Strategic thinking and results-oriented approach
    • High integrity, with commitment to corporate compliance
    • Stakeholder management across multiple levels and departments.

    Technical Skills:

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and financial modeling tools
    • Strong command of ERP systems (Oracle Experience will be an added advantage) and financial reporting software
    • In depth knowledge of cost structures in Manufacturing (i.e. FMCG, Pharmaceutical)
    • Understanding of industry regulations, GMP, and cost control mechanisms
    • Strong analytical acumen and attention to detail.

    Senior Project Manager

    Job Introduction

    • Adexen has been mandated by a leading pan-African Manufacturer and Distributor of world-class medicine and medical supplies to recruit a Senior Project Manager. 

    Responsibilities

    • The Senior Project Manager will lead the establishment of a company-wide Project Management Office (PMO) and oversee the delivery of strategic and operational projects.
    • The role ensures strong governance, disciplined execution, and alignment with business objectives across initiatives such as plant construction, technology transfer, digital transformation, and product development.
    • This position is critical to strengthening execution capability, reducing delivery risk, and supporting sustainable growth in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

    PMO Leadership & Governance:

    • Establish and lead an enterprise-wide PMO, defining project management frameworks, governance, portfolio prioritization, and performance standards.
    • Embed a culture of disciplined execution, accountability, and budget control across the organization.

    Portfolio & Program Oversight:

    • Provide executive oversight of a diversified project portfolio, including capital projects, manufacturing and process improvements, R&D initiatives, and corporate transformation programs.
    • Ensure effective planning, risk management, milestone delivery, and escalation.

    Performance Management & Reporting:

    • Implement robust project approval, stage-gate, and reporting processes.
    • Develop executive dashboards integrating financial, operational, and strategic KPIs, in close collaboration with Finance and HR.

    Team Leadership & Capability Building:

    • Build and lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary project management team.
    • Develop internal project management capabilities through structured training, coaching, and professional certification programs.

    Stakeholder & Executive Engagement:

    • Act as the senior interface with internal leaders, external partners, regulators, and the Board.
    • Ensure cross-functional alignment, compliance, and effective communication across all strategic initiatives.

    Desired Skills and Experience
    Education & Certification:

    • Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA / MSc) desirable
    • Professional project management certification preferred (PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, PgMP).

    Experience:

    • 15–20+ years of experience managing large-scale, cross-functional projects in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or manufacturing environments
    • Proven track record leading PMO functions and delivering complex capital projects (greenfield and brownfield)
    • Solid exposure to product development, technology transfer, and regulated (GMP) environments
    • Strong expertise in project governance, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.

    Leadership & Managerial Competencies:

    • Strong leadership and influencing capability across functions and senior stakeholders
    • Deep understanding of end-to-end project lifecycles, from concept to commissioning and product launch
    • High level of financial and analytical acumen, including ROI and CAPEX evaluation
    • Excellent communication and board-level reporting skills
    • Strategic mindset with a strong focus on execution, transformation, and continuous improvement.

    Technical Competencies:

    • Advanced mastery of project and portfolio management frameworks (PMBOK, PRINCE2, Stage-Gate)
    • Proven capability to lead capital and plant construction projects in GMP-regulated environments
    • Strong expertise in cost control, risk management, and project performance analytics
    • Proficiency in project and reporting tools (MS Project, Power BI, Primavera)
    • Solid understanding of GMP, HSE, and regulatory standards
    • Demonstrated experience in digital transformation and process optimization initiatives.

    Senior Commercial Manager - Refinery Sales

    Job Introduction

    • Adexen is mandated by a leading African conglomerate with a large-scale refining operation to recruit a highly experienced Senior Commercial Manager to maximize revenue across domestic and export markets.

    Responsibilities

    • The Senior Commercial Manager – Refinery Sales is responsible for driving sales performance, pricing discipline, and customer management for refined petroleum products.
    • The role ensures effective market placement of refinery output, optimized cash flow, and strong alignment between refinery operations and market demand.
    • Develop and execute sales strategies for refined petroleum products (PMS, AGO, ATK, LPG, etc.)
