    Field Service Engineer - SGT600, Gas Turbine Controls

    About the Role

    • This position serves as a company technical and administrative representative, resident engineer and deals with customer service assignment. On-site preventive and scheduled maintenance service work, call-out services and new unit commissioning activities on gas turbines product lines and packages.

    Responsibilities
    How You’ll Make an Impact: 

    • Under general direction and instructions, independently determines and develops approaches to solutions to customer requirements and problems.
    • Understands and complies with company and customer safety policies and procedures.
    • Ensure the work permit system is complied with.
    • Ensure safe site and practices.
    • Participate by attending general safety and toolbox safety meetings. Suggest safety improvements.
    • Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
    • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with company policy, manufacturer's recommendations and good practices.
    • Must have basic knowledge of methods and experience in the categories of maintenance on the products and various equipment associated with primary package.
    • Must be able to recognize abnormal sounds vibrations and potential safety problems at inception and take appropriate action to prevent a serious safety hazard that could develop to equipment damage or loss of production.
    • Provide timely and daily reports to the relevant manager on on-going projects or daily work.
    • Keep abreast of pending work and personnel required to complete the projects.
    • Ensure that necessary parts are available and submit materials requisitions when required.
    • Accurate feedback and communication to pre-planned report format.
    • Keep and update all equipment histories to effectively forecast equipment utilization and efficiency.
    • Co-ordinate any changes necessary to ensure operations are efficient and minimal downtime is required. Ensure effective communication and reporting to immediate supervision and if applicable to customer representatives.
    • Will utilize sound judgment when analyzing problems.
    • Solve problems with little or no supervision in a timely manner and at a nominal cost.
    • Master all procedures and available options of identifying sources of information and technical advice. Will have sufficient product knowledge to repair and adjust minor electrical components/systems and will be capable of reading applicable drawings and technical manuals.
    • Provide short to medium term scheduling of personnel and materials required for smooth routine maintenance and commissioning of plant.
    • Adequate strategy of engaging operations in releasing equipment in a timely manner for maintenance. Will be, required to assist in a technical manner with the operations and maintenance crew in any area if the workload exceeds the number of personnel available.
    • Monitor maintenance services or installation support to ensure they are carried out within company policy, manufacturers’ recommendations and in a safe manner
    • Ensure major interventions are planned, executed on schedule and within commercial orders.

    What You Bring 

    • Must have verifiable above 8-years of working experience on gas turbine and advanced controls systems in a related industry.
    • Advanced computer software expertise and electronic hardware handling proficiency
    • Will have served on recognized gas turbine product lines and/or having long period of continuous occupation as gas turbines controls engineer.
    • Will possess a technical qualification e.g. Engineering Degree, preferably in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
    • Experience in an onshore/offshore environment is essential.
    • Deep knowledge of rotating equipment packages background will be an asset.
    • Familiarity with Gas Turbine engine theory, packages systems theory and operational will be an asset.

    Maintenance Planner

    How You’ll Make An Impact

    • The Job & Material Planner is required for a Long-Term Maintenance Service Contract at designated customer facility.
    • The Planner will be responsible for material, job & outage planning activities related to the scope of the contract.
    • Coordinate outage planning for all maintenance intervention such as identify resources, spares & tools and work closely with the Fleet manager and Client Maintenance Team
    • He / She will be required to support the Execution Team in management of spares, tools, and consumables for routine, planned, corrective work and unplanned outages.
    • These services shall include - processing of spares requests and general inventory management referenced and outlined in the contractual scope of work.
    • Understands Company process for outage planning and ability to drive compliance with outage planning milestones
    • The Maintenance Planner will provide regular support for storage and preservation of capital and critical spares covered in Terms in Client Warehouses.
    • General inventory management scope for planner may include but not limited to:
    • Identification of critical spare parts
    • Update on min/max inventory data
    • Provide information on spares obsolescence
    • Tracking of inventory depletion
    • General knowledge of Rotating Equipment (Turbines, Compressors, etc.) hardware - instrumentation, controls & mechanical
    • Specialty in inventory management for controls, electrical, instrumentation & mechanical
    • Proficient use of Microsoft office tools, Microsoft Project, and Primavera planning tools
    • Competence regarding gas turbine compressor package operation and design
    • Detailed knowledge of gas compression package auxiliary system components and operation (e.g. lube oil, fuel gas, seal gas)
    • Demonstrated planning ability
    • Strong coordination and communication skills
    • Business judgment to be capable and willing to escalate issues when required.
    • High level of competence regarding operation, maintenance and design of gas turbine-driven compressor packages
    • Understands reliability and availability definitions and can use appropriate Operational Reliability and Availability Program for data analysis
    • Understands Siemens product support structure including regional and global support capabilities and points of contact throughout the organization.
    • Knowledge of Company issue management processes (Resolve Customer Issue – RCI)

    What You Bring

    • Bachelor's degree (minimum of 2nd class lower division) or HND minimum (upper credit minimum) preferably in Engineering discipline
    • 6 years experience in job and material planning including inventory management
    • Significant experience with supporting RB211, SGT 600 & Compressor packages
    • Significant experience planning major outages – PMs, engine & Power turbines
    • Significant experience planning major outages – PMs, engine & Power turbines
    • Demonstrates ability to utilize problem solving tools for complex issues
    • Makes decisions in a timely manner sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure
    • Computer knowledge (Word, Excel, MS Office, Explorer and Adobe Acrobat, CMMS, ORAP, SAP)
    • Ability to work in Client location on 28/28 days rotation
    • Ability to travel to offshore locations by helicopter on short notice, having the necessary offshore safety certificate
