    Excavator Operator

    Job Summary

    • The Excavator Operator will be responsible for operating the Excavator in a safe and effective manner.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Operate all excavator in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
    • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks of machinery.
    • Conduct pre-operational checks on excavator and clean, lubricate and refill equipment as scheduled and/or required.
    • Ensure all excavator is safely and securely stored.
    • Participate in routine maintenance of Excavator Machinery.
    • Recommend any requirements for maintenance or repairs to the Shift Coordinator.
    • Practice workplace safety.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Shift Engineer from time to time.

    Requirements
    Education and Experience:

    • B.Sc, HND, OND, Trade Test or its equivalent in a relevant discipline.
    • Valid Drivers Licence with Class H
    • A minimum of three(3) years experience in the operation of excavator.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Good networking and teaming skills.
    • Good data gathering and analysis skills.
    • Baseline problem analysis and solving skills.
    • Creativity and an ability to think out of the box.
    • Proficiency in the use of office productivity tools.

    Technical Operator

    Job Duties

    • Ensure the smooth and efficient running of plant machines.
    • Operate / monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
    • Conduct changeovers, basic repairs, and adjustments in plant machines.
    • Conduct fault finding and basic repairs for electrical and mechanical equipment.
    • Identify, prioritize, and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques.
    • Continually seek to identify opportunities for cost saving and more effective ways of carrying out production activities.

    Qualifications

    • Candidates should possess an OND in Mechanical or Electrical / Electronics Engineering.
    • Must have 3 -5 years of work experience as a technical operator.
    • Basic knowledge of autonomous maintenance and preventive maintenance.
    • Troubleshooting skills.
    • Machine operations and maintenance.

    Other Requirements:

    • Knowledge of high-speed production machines, maintenance, and operation.
    • Ability to demonstrate basic Technical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
    • Sound understanding of mining and steel production processes.
    • Computer literacy.

    Mechanical Foreman

    Job Summary

    • Oversee and manage all maintenance and repair activities associated with Crusher Plant Equipment.
    • Ensure completion of mechanical maintenance jobs with the highest level of quality, safety and effectiveness at minimum cost to maximize equipment availability.
    • Embrace preventive and predictive maintenance practices, and contribute to their improvement.
    • Manage and motivate his team; ensure co-ordination and co-operation between his and other departments.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Leading, directing and supervising a team of mechanical technicians
    • Distributing tasks and responsibilities among the team members based on their skills and expertise.
    • Developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to minimize downtime and extendequipment lifespan.
    • Optimize maintenance operations, using best available tools and procedures, in order to maximize equipment availability.
    • Ensure,upon completion of repairs, that equipment is in good operating condition, ready to meet operational requirements, fully inspected, tested, clean and safe.
    • Developspecifications for manufacture, and determine materials, equipment, piping, material flows, capacities, and layout of plants and systems.
    • Prepare weekly / monthly maintenance reports for the attention of the Head, Mechanical Maintenance.
    • Analyze production and maintenance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Work with other engineers and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
    • Inspecting equipment functionality after troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
    • Evaluating how much labor and materials are required for plant equipment maintenance.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • A minimum of B. Eng / HND in mechanical engineering is required.
    • A minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience as a plant mechanical foremanis required.
    • Must have in-depth, hands-on experience in the maintenance of large equipment like ball mills, vibrating screens, gear boxes and exciters, crushers, slurry tank agitators, slurry pumps, conveyors, all types of rotary equipment, and hydraulic systems.
    • Must have hands-on experience in plant safety, mechanical maintenance, heavy equipment erection, rotary equipment alignment, troubleshooting preventive maintenance, and the use of measuring instruments.
    • Must have high-level hands-on experience in drive alignment (resilient coupling, fluid coupling, gear coupling, cardan shafts, torsion shafts, journal bearings, large antifriction bearing fitment).
    • Must be capable of making fixtures for mechanical maintenance works like coupling pullers, bearing pullers, wire rope slings, and torque shaft alignment.
    • Must have expertise in the use of measuring instruments like the inside/outside micrometer, vernier caliper, thread gauge, slip gauge, depth gauge, bevel protactor, and master level.
    • Excellent management and leadership skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
