Electrical Engineer (Entry Level) at Goteh Construction

Job Role / Objectives

• We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to support electrical design, installation, testing, and project execution activities on construction projects.
• This role is ideal for a recent graduate engineer looking to gain hands-on site and project experience under the guidance of senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in power distribution system design tasks such as electrical layout, single line diagrams, wiring schedules and load calculations.
• Assist in electrical installation, maintenance, testing, and documentation activities in line with project specifications and safety standards.
• Support the installation of electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, distribution boards, and motor control centres.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
• Assist with testing activities, record test results, and support analysis of electrical system performance
• Participate in Inspection of completed electrical works to ensure compliance with design and operational standards
• Identify basic faults and escalate technical issues where necessary.
• Ensure adherence to site safety rules and company procedures at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical/Electronics Engineering from a recognised university.
• 1 - 3 years’ post-NYSC experiencein electrical project execution and coordination within a construction or engineering environment.
• Basic knowledge of electrical installation and power distribution systems.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD (Revit knowledge is an advantage).
• Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) or progress toward professional certification is an added advantage.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop practical engineering skills.
• Ability to work with design engineers, clients, contractors.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic mathematical and technical competence.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a site-based environment.
• Attention to detail and a positive work ethic.
• The will to learn and continuously develop professional skills and knowledge.
