The Director of Sales and Marketing is a full-time, on-site role based in Abuja, responsible for driving revenue growth and brand visibility for Nordic Hotels Nigeria. This role oversees the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies, including managing corporate accounts, leisure segments, and online travel partners.
The Director will lead and mentor the sales and marketing team, set performance targets, and monitor key metrics, including occupancy, average daily rate, and market share.
Day-to-day tasks include building relationships with key clients, coordinating promotional campaigns, optimizing digital presence, and collaborating with operations to ensure guest satisfaction aligns with brand positioning. The role also involves budgeting, reporting, market analysis, and representing the hotel at industry events and networking activities.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in hotel or hospitality sales, including corporate, group, and leisure segments, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
Strong marketing skills, including brand management, campaign planning, social media, and content development for both digital and traditional channels.
Experience with revenue management principles, pricing strategies, and use of CRM or hotel sales systems to analyze performance and optimize results.
Excellent leadership and people management abilities, including team coaching, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Advanced communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to present proposals and close high-value deals.
Relevant academic background, such as a degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Previous experience in boutique or upscale hotels, or in the wider hospitality industry, preferably in a similar senior sales and marketing position.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret market trends, customer insights, and data-driven reports to inform strategy.
Proficiency with office productivity tools and digital platforms, including Microsoft Office, online distribution channels, and social media management tools.
Ability to work on-site in Abuja, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a guest-focused mindset in all commercial decisions.
