    Communications Lead

    Role Description

    • This role requires overseeing the communications efforts of the organization, including public relations and marketing across all of Sydani’s communication platforms including the company website and social media channels.
    • The candidate will be required to conduct market research to understand clients’ needs and preferences, communicate with media personnel, implement communication policies and procedures to uphold the company’s brand image, oversee press relations and improve brand visibility and reputation.
    • The individual must be a critical and analytical thinker.

    Responsibilities

    • Regularly update the company website with appealing content
    • Design/curate and disseminate distinct types of content across all communication channels to improve brand visibility and reputation
    • Create and produce internal newsletters for the organization.
    • Manage the company’s or organization’s social media communications.
    • Oversee press relations communications.
    • Track analytics to glean insights and refine communications strategy to improve performance
    • Maintain an archive of the company’s digital media including photos and videos

    Chief of Party (CoP)

    Role Description

    • Sydani Group is seeking an experienced Chief of Party (CoP) to lead the anticipated USAID/Nigeria Health Financing and Human Resources for Health project. This position is pivotal in providing strategic leadership and oversight for both the Health Financing and HRH components of the project. The CoP will be responsible for managing all aspects of project implementation, ensuring alignment with USAID objectives, fostering stakeholder relationships, and achieving project outcomes.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the entire project, including both the Health Financing and HRH components.
    • Lead the development and implementation of project strategies, ensuring alignment with USAID objectives and national health priorities.
    • Manage project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure effective implementation of activities across both arms of the project.
    • Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team of professionals and consultants, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
    • Establish and maintain effective communication and coordination mechanisms with all project stakeholders, including government agencies, local partners, donors, and other implementing partners.
    • Ensure compliance with USAID regulations and reporting requirements, including timely submission of project reports and deliverables.
    • Oversee monitoring and evaluation activities to track project progress, identify challenges, and make necessary adjustments to achieve project goals.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for USAID, maintaining regular communication and collaboration to ensure project alignment with donor expectations.
    • Represent the project and Sydani Group in relevant forums, conferences, and meetings, advocating for project objectives and sharing best practices and lessons learned.

    Required Qualifications

    • Master's degree in public health, Health Economics, Health Management, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in managing and implementing complex health projects, with significant experience in both health financing and HRH.
    • Proven track record of successful project management, including managing large-scale projects funded by international donors, preferably USAID.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse team towards achieving project objectives.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with many stakeholders.
    • In-depth knowledge of health systems strengthening, health financing mechanisms, HRH policies, and practices in Nigeria.
    • Demonstrated ability to navigate and work effectively within the Nigerian government and donor community.
    • Experience working in Nigeria or other similar contexts in Sub-Saharan Africa is highly desirable.

    Monitoring and Evaluation Program Manager

    Role Description

    Sydani is seeking an experienced and innovative M&E Program Manager to provide quality monitoring of program interventions and strategies for an anticipated USAID/Nigeria Health project. This position is crucial in designing, implementing, and managing the monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning framework of the project to ensure effective and efficient delivery of program objectives. The M&E manager will lead monitoring and evaluation efforts and ensure alignment of project implementation activities with USAID objectives and national and state government priorities.

    Key Responsibilities
    Development of MEAL Framework

    • Design and implement comprehensive monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL) systems, tools, and processes to track project progress, outcomes, and impacts across various health initiatives, including health financing & HRH, digital health, quality of care at the PHC level, and community health programs
    • Develop indicators, data collection methodologies, and data analysis plans to measure project performance against established benchmarks and targets across all health-related areas
    • Ensure alignment of MEAL activities with project goals, donor requirements, and best public health practices

    Monitoring and Reporting

    • Oversee regular data collection, analysis, and reporting to monitor project progress and identify areas for improvement across various health programs
    • Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting of data to donors, stakeholders, and internal teams
    • Conduct regular field visits to project sites to monitor data quality and provide technical support to project staff as needed

    Evaluation

    • Plan and manage project evaluations, including baseline, mid-term, and end-line evaluations, to assess project effectiveness, sustainability, and impact
    • Coordinate with external evaluators and consultants to ensure the quality and integrity of evaluation processes and findings
    • Utilize evaluation findings to inform programmatic decision-making and improve project implementation strategies

    Accountability

    • Establish and maintain feedback mechanisms to solicit input from beneficiaries, stakeholders, and partners on project activities and outcomes
    • Ensure that feedback received is analyzed, documented, and used to inform programmatic adjustments and improvements
    • Promote transparency and accountability by facilitating dialogue and engagement with project stakeholders at all levels

    Learning

    • Facilitate knowledge sharing and learning within the project team and with external stakeholders to promote continuous improvement and innovation
    • Document and disseminate lessons learned, best practices, and success stories from project implementation
    • Support capacity-building efforts to strengthen MEAL competencies among project staff and partners

    Required Competencies

    • Strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation principles, methodologies, and tools in the context of public health
    • Proficiency in data management, analysis, and visualization using statistical software (e.g., Excel, Power BI, SPSS, STATA, R)
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders
    • Proven project management abilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
    • Demonstrated commitment to quality, accuracy, and attention to detail in all aspects of work
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
    • Familiarity with health information systems and electronic data collection tools is an asset

    Education And Experience

    • Advance degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, health informatics, Statistics or related field
    • Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in digital health, or strengthening quality of care at the PHC level, or community health, or health financing, or human resources for health
    • Experience working with government agencies, international organizations, or NGOs involved in health financing or human resources for health programs is desirable
    • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing M&E frameworks, conducting data analysis, and producing high-quality reports related to health financing and human resources for health
    • Previous experience in capacity building, training, or technical assistance related to M&E activities in health financing and human resources for health is an advantage

    Quality-of-Care Technical Lead

    Role Description

    • The Quality-of-Care Technical Lead will work under the leadership of the Chief of Party and with Sydani's senior management team to ensure high-quality, timely implementation of technical aspects related to quality improvement. This involves close collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH), state governments, USAID Nigeria, implementing partners, healthcare facilities, and other stakeholders.

    Job Responsibilities

    Note: The duties and responsibilities described below are not exhaustive. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessitated by business demands.

    • Ensure technical quality of RMNCH activities and their integration across all PHC levels
    • Provide and facilitate mentoring and capacity strengthening for healthcare providers at PHC facilities to meet nationally defined quality standards
    • Work with healthcare providers, local authorities, community members, and project team members to identify and address PHC service delivery issues that affect the uptake of services. Propose innovative solutions to improve quality of care at all PHC levels
    • Conduct health facility assessments, stakeholder dialogues, strengthen referral systems, and provide facility supportive supervision
    • Collaborate with local stakeholders, the MOH, community leaders, and other partners, including private sector providers, to ensure project activities are responsive and aligned with national priorities
    • Identify training needs for healthcare providers, design, and implement measures to address those needs. Develop and update evidence-based training materials, standards, job aids, and curricula
    • the design of tailored capacity strengthening plans for local partners and implement systems for joint assessments, mentoring, and monitoring improvements
    • Provide technical oversight to sub-partners and ensure they deliver on project scope
    • Work with the Chief of Party and team members to set project priorities and respond to local government requests. Provide technical inputs for work plans, project monitoring, and compliance with award requirements
    • Collaborate with M&E staff to implement data tracking plans and use data to inform project adjustments
    • Supervise and mentor technical and program staff, manage performance, and provide feedback
    • Maintain excellent relationships with USAID, the Government of Nigeria, and in-country stakeholders. Participate in relevant technical advisory groups and professional forums representing Sydani
    • Document successes, lessons learned, and implementation challenges. Author or co-author abstracts, presentations, and articles for journals and conferences

    Required Qualifications

    • Advanced degree in nursing, health sciences, public health, or a related field
    • At least 7 years of experience in quality improvement in RMNCH, integrated health programming, health systems strengthening, or PHC. Experience working with and capacitating local sub-grantees, and knowledge of capacity development approaches for locally led development
    • Experience working with the Government of Nigeria, understanding its structure, priorities, and policies. Familiarity with USAID’s administrative, management, and reporting procedures and systems
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills, with the ability to lead, mentor, and coach technical staff. Strong analytical and conceptual skills with strategic planning ability
    • Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with USAID, host-country counterparts, NGOs, CSOs, and the private sector
    • Expertise in identifying and adapting best practices to specific project contexts
    • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills in English
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Ability to travel nationally to project sites

    Business Development Lead

    Role Description

    • The ideal candidate should demonstrate a high level of commercial awareness with a minimum of 5 years’ of progressive business development experience working with international donors or implementing partners (USAID, BMGF, JSI, HSDF, Solina etc.).
    • Experience with government agencies and parastatals in a business development/grants management position can be considered.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify and source for innovative and impactful projects/programs in line with Sydani’s objectives and goals
    • Engage C-level decision-makers at conferences, forums and meetings to build strategic relationships
    • Forge MOUs and partnerships with similar organizations to execute projects or programs
    • Lead market penetration activities into new countries in the Eastern/Western Africa region
    • Coordinate responses to RFPs and RFQs from government and international donor agencies
    • Lead negotiations and discussions with government stakeholders to ensure project continuity and expansion
    • Develop frameworks, approaches, and procedures to enhance the efficiency of business development support processes

    Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications and competencies

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a reputable university
    • Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from an internationally renowned university is desirable
    • Membership of a professional body is an added advantage
    • Have evidence of actual proposals/grants developed, led, and won (combined minimum of $1m)
    • Have led a business expansion into other countries preferably in West and East Africa
    • Possess a deep understanding of the business landscape and market entry requirements in West and/or East African countries
    • Possess advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
    • Understand data and market research tools including Bloomberg, BMI etc.
    • Be exceptional at networking, presentation and strategic communications
    • Demonstrate business intelligence skills evidenced by longstanding contacts in government, partners locally and internationally.
