    Clinical Supervisor / Doctor

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide high-quality clinical consultations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care to patients in accordance with national and WHO guidelines.
    • Deliver lifesaving medical care for acute illnesses, infectious diseases, chronic conditions, and emergency cases.
    • Ensure timely management of obstetric emergencies, trauma, malnutrition-related complications, and other conditions common in humanitarian crises.
    • Provide referrals for complicated cases to secondary or tertiary care facilities and ensure proper documentation.
    • Support outbreak investigation and response activities within the PHCC and community.
    • Promote patient-centered care with respect for dignity, culture, and humanitarian principles.
    • Participate in clinical mentoring, case discussions, morbidity and mortality reviews, and quality assurance activities.
    • Collaborate closely with nurses, midwives, laboratory personnel, community health volunteers, and other PHCC staff to ensure integrated service delivery.
    • Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols and safe clinical practices in all consultations.
    • Support health education and risk communication activities targeting patients and community members.
    • Ensure the medical facility and staff maintain high ethical and professional standards.
    • Strengthen the delivery of high-quality healthcare services in line with national and WHO standards.
    • Counsel, orient, and support newly hired clinical staff.
    • Provide on-the-job mentoring to refresh and strengthen clinical skills and improve service quality.
    • Ensure availability of essential drugs and medical supplies according to the approved tracer drug list.
    • Review laboratory reports and advise on additional investigations or referrals as necessary.
    • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to develop drug and supply lists for procurement, ensuring alignment with essential drug lists, coordinate with the Country Pharmacist on updates and waiver processes.
    • Ensure national protocols and guidelines are available and adhered to by all clinical staff.
    • Strengthen community linkages by promoting community health programs.
    • Evaluate the job performance of clinical personnel.
    • Conduct regular facility assessments and recommend improvements for client-friendly, accessible services.
    • Ensure accurate documentation and timely entry of patient information into electronic health records.
    • Oversee supply chain processes, stock management, timely ordering, and accountability of medical supplies.
    • Promote a culture of learning, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
    • Coordinate closely with other LABDI programs at the same location to support integrated service delivery.
    • Promote and monitor quality standards in the PHCC and report regularly on quality indicators.

    Staff Supervision and Development:

    • Maintain open, respectful, and professional relations with team members to foster strong teamwork.
    • Ensure ongoing technical capacity building opportunities for staff.
    • Provide coaching and monitoring to strengthen the clinical skills of medical doctors.

    Management and Reporting:

    • Prepare purchase and payment requests for health program activities as per donor and grant requirements.
    • Ensure accurate and timely data collection, entry, and reporting from facility staff.
    • Contribute to the preparation of internal and external reports (field visit narratives, donor reports, weekly reports, ) within set deadlines.
    • Support the development and maintenance of systems for oversight, quality control, and reporting.
    • Oversee the collection and timely reporting of program indicators in line with LABDI and donor standards.
    • In coordination with the Senior Health Manager, LABDI Advisor Program Manager strengthen working relationships with government stakeholders, UN agencies, INGOs, NGOs, and other actors within the health sector.

    Other Duties:

    • Monitor and assess the safety and security of field teams; promptly report concerns and coordinate with management and external actors as needed.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor to support LABDI’s program development and implementation.
    • Note:
    • LABDI has zero tolerance to sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA), any act of child abuse including sexual exploitation and sexual abuse constitute acts of serious misconduct and are therefore grounds for LABDI plenary measures, including summary dismissal.

    Nurse / Midwife

    Description

    • Nurse/Midwives will be responsible for the delivery of quality, timely, and integrated sexual and reproductive health (SRH), maternal and newborn care, and nutrition services at PHCC Ngala.
    • Focus on safe motherhood, essential newborn care, outpatient nutrition services, community engagement, and facility-based quality improvement.
    • Ensure that lifesaving services are delivered according to national guidelines and humanitarian standards.

    Key Responsibilities
    Clinical Maternal & Reproductive Health Services:

    • Provide antenatal, intrapartum, post-partum, and post-natal care according to national and WHO/MISP standards.
    • Manage normal deliveries and assist in complicated births.
    • Ensure appropriate referral of obstetric and neonatal emergencies.
    • Provide family planning counselling and services, including postpartum FP.
    • Ensure early newborn care, vaccination referrals (EPI), and follow-up.

    Integrated Nutrition Services:

    • Support outpatient nutrition programs (MUAC screening, IYCF counselling, referral of severe cases).
    • Conduct routine nutritional assessment for pregnant and lactating women (PLW) and newborns.
    • Provide IYCF-E counselling to caregivers.
    • Work closely with the nutrition team to detect and refer malnutrition among children under 5 and PLW.

    Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) and Hygiene:

    • Ensure strict adherence to IPC protocols, hygiene standards, waste disposal, and environmental cleaning.
    • Supervise cleaners, sterilization staff, and support staff to maintain a safe clinical environment.
    • Monitor sterilization of equipment and availability of essential IPC supplies.

    Health & Nutrition Coordination at PHCC:

    • Participate in joint planning, coordination, and daily implementation of integrated health and nutrition services.
    • Support health promotion activities, including maternal nutrition, breastfeeding, ANC attendance, and facility delivery awareness.
    • Work with community volunteers and mobilizers to improve service uptake.

    Data Management & Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and complete health and nutrition records, registers, and patient files.
    • Ensure timely submission of daily, weekly, and monthly reporting tools.
    • Contribute to data quality checks and support monitoring and evaluation activities.

    Staff Supervision & Capacity Strengthening:

    • Supervise clinic support staff, cleaners, maternity assistants, and birth attendants.
    • Provide on-the-job coaching on maternal health, newborn care, IPC, and nutrition practices.
    • Support staff performance evaluation and participate in trainings, drills, and clinical updates.

    Logistics & Supply Chain Support:

    • Monitor stock levels of maternity, RH, and nutrition supplies.
    • Report stockouts, submit requisitions, and ensure proper usage of commodities (drugs, supplements, delivery kits).
    • Collaborate with pharmacy and logistics teams to maintain proper inventory and storage.

    Humanitarian Principles & Community Accountability:

    • Uphold humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence in daily work.
    • Ensure confidentiality, dignity, and respectful maternity care at all times.
    • Support complaint and feedback mechanisms as part of accountability to affected populations (AAP).

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Registered Nurse–Midwife (RNM) qualification or equivalent accredited qualification.
    • Minimum 2 years clinical experience, preferably in humanitarian or low-resource settings.
    • Experience in maternal and newborn care, nutrition programming, and emergency health services.
    • Strong knowledge of IPC, obstetric emergencies, referral pathways, and nutrition screening.
    • Ability to work in a dynamic, high-pressure humanitarian environment.
