    Cashier

    Job Description

    • We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cashier. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for handling various financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with financial standards and regulations.
    • The ideal candidate should possess excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Post customer payments by recording cash, cheque, and credit/debit card transactions on the accounting software.
    • Maintain a comprehensive record of all cash, cheque, and credit/debit card transactions for future reference.
    • Manage an accurate and up-to-date hospital income record by handling bank cheques and documenting relevant transactions.
    • Ensure proper documentation of handovers of cash, cheques, and POS printouts.
    • Prepare regular (weekly) cash flow reports for management review when required.
    • Maintain confidentiality of all patients' and hospital's financial information.
    • Manage petty cash and disbursements.
    • Issue receipts to patients for services rendered by the organization.
    • Accurately credit client/patient accounts and debit the cash or cheque control account on the Accounting software.
    • Record accounting transactions on the financial reporting software and conduct bank reconciliations.
    • Lodge cash and cheques into corporate accounts as needed.
    • Safely keep custody of cash and cheques received until bank lodgment.
    • Ensure the good working condition of POS, cash safe, and other relevant tools used for the role.

    The Person

    • Minimum academic qualification of an OND in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or any related Degree.
    • Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Working knowledge of accounting and financial concepts and practices.
    • Full working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package, especially with spreadsheet software (Excel).
    • Excellent communication and people management skills.
    • Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills are required for this role.
