ROLE PURPOSE

The Assistant Production Manager supports the execution of production operations by translating production plans into daily shop-floor activities. The role ensures optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials to achieve production targets while maintaining cost efficiency, product quality, safety compliance, and operational discipline.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement daily and shift production plans to achieve ≥95% output targets.
• Allocate and manage manpower, machines, and materials efficiently.
• Monitor production performance and resolve deviations in real time.
• Control labor costs, overtime, and ensure payroll accuracy.
• Optimize machine utilization and reduce downtime through coordination with maintenance.
• Enforce quality standards, minimize waste, and improve first-pass yield.
• Drive cost efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen).
• Ensure strict adherence to safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare accurate production, labor, and performance reports.
• Supervise, coach, and enforce discipline among production teams.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years manufacturing experience, with 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong skills in production planning, cost control, and problem-solving.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing is an advantage.

JOB OBJECTIVE

Lead and optimize all operational activities (plantation, milling, logistics, and supply chain) to ensure efficiency, profitability, compliance, and sustainable growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the MD/CEO in defining and executing strategy.
• Oversee plantation and milling operations to maximize yield, efficiency, and quality.
• Drive mechanization, modernization, and sustainability initiatives.
• Manage budgets, control costs, and track KPIs for performance improvement.
• Lead and develop teams, ensuring productivity and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with RSPO, ISO, and regulatory standards.
• Manage operational risks, stakeholder engagement, and community relations.
• Provide regular operational reports and support board/investor engagements.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
• 15+ years’ experience in agribusiness/plantation operations, with 5+ years in senior leadership.
• Strong experience in oil palm operations, sustainability standards, and budget management.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS (Preferred)

• PMP, Lean Six Sigma, RSPO, ISO, HSE (NEBOSH/IOSH), or relevant professional memberships.
