    Administrative Assistant

    Job Summary

    • The Administrative Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the State Coordinator and will provide administrative, logistical, and operational support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the state office.
    • The role includes office management, logistics, and accommodation arrangements for staff, management, and consultants, as well as administrative support to project design and implementation within the state.

    Major Roles and Responsibilities

    • Support recruitment and performance appraisal processes
    • Prepare, document, and disseminate minutes and reports of staff technical and management meetings
    • Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of office facilities
    • Source grant opportunities online and support proposal development processes
    • Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements for staff, management, and consultants
    • Track staff attendance and movement using approved registers
    • Develop monthly tracking sheets on staff punctuality and lateness
    • Facilitate logistics arrangements for meetings, trainings, and workshops
    • Manage office telephone lines and maintain records of correspondence
    • Receive, document, and track deliveries from vendors and service providers
    • Perform any other duties assigned to support effective team performance

    Required Qualification and Experience

    • B.sc/HND Business Administration or related field of studies
    • At least 2 years of work experience, 1 of which must be professional experience in administrative roles
    • Proven ability to provide a high level of support to the management team.

    • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
    • Capacity to influence, facilitate change, and build internal capacity
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

    Protection Officer

    Job Summary

    • The Protection Officer will work under the supervision of the State Coordinator to support the design, implementation, and monitoring of protection activities in Kano State.
    • The role focuses on strengthening protection systems, preventing and responding to Gender-Based Violence and Child Protection concerns, and ensuring that protection principles are mainstreamed across all project activities in the state.

    Major Roles and Responsibilities

    • Implement protection activities in line with approved project plans and donor requirements
    • Identify, document, and respond to protection risks, including GBV and child protection cases
    • Support case management, referrals, and follow-up in line with established protection protocols
    • Facilitate community sensitization and awareness sessions on protection, GBV, and child rights
    • Ensure safe, confidential, and ethical handling of protection-related data
    • Contribute to protection assessments, monitoring, and reporting
    • Prepare timely activity reports, success stories, and lessons learned
    • Support integration of protection principles across other sectoral interventions
    • Perform any other duties assigned in support of effective project delivery

    Required Qualifications and Experience
    Education:

    • B.Sc. / HND in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Law, Gender Studies, International Development, or a related field

    Experience:

    • Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in protection programming
    • Demonstrated experience in GBV and/or Child Protection interventions
    • Experience working with NGOs, INGOs, or humanitarian/development organizations is an added advantage

    Required Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong understanding of protection principles, GBV, and child protection standards
    • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills
    • Ability to work sensitively with vulnerable populations
    • Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
    • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
