KAM INDUSTRIES (NIGERIA) LIMITED a wholly owned indigenous company, was registered in 1996 under the companies and Allied Matter Act of Nigeria as a manufacturer of nail shanks of various sizes, umbrella and couper nails, British Reinforcement Concrete (BRC) Mesh wire, binding wire, bale tiles drawn wire, straightening wires etc.
The company started its manufacturing operations in 1997 with a few nail cutting machines from a noble location on Asa Dam road Ilorin with three members of staff as operators. At the inception, the incumbent Vice Chairman/CEO, Alhaji Kamoru Yusuf was the company’s Engineer. From its humble beginning as a manufacturing company, it has grown into one of the largest independently owned nail and wire producing company in Nigeria.
The steady growth of the company impacted greatly on the expansion of the company’s activities and the acquisition of an 8 acres permanent site factory in 1999. The company’s share of the market increased rapidly over times making it to become one of the major players in the nail and wire industries in Nigeria. The company added new products to its profile such as Black and Galvanized EM8, EM10, A142, PP packaging, Nylon and woven sacks.
The company became an international company when it invested millions of US Dollars to set up a manufacturing factory in China in 2008 to produce raw materials for the Nigerian outfit.. It also set up an export company in China in order to access quality machinery, raw materials and spares from the Chinese market.
In continuation of its expansion programmes, the company has diversified into the production of quality galvanized roofing sheets and colour coated roofing sheets using cold rolled sheets as raw materials.
In 2012, the company has commenced the construction of the phase ll of its USD210 million Cold Rolled Mill and when completed, the mill will provide raw materials for the roofing sheet factory and the general public.
