Special Needs Class Teacher at an Educational Institution

• Identify and work with learners with special educational needs.
• Provide academic and behavioural support to learners identified to require additional support including reinforcing core academic subjects.
• Collaborate/Liaise with teachers, parents, agencies, and a range of other professionals, such as behaviour technicians, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists.
• Plan and schedule periodic meetings with relevant stakeholders to review support for SEND learners.
• Monitor learners' progress and provide relevant documentation such as IEP, Progress Reports, Intervention trackers, etc.
• Provide a safe and healthy environment and follow safeguarding procedures. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• BEd. in Special Education
• Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role
• Good knowledge of current special education topics and methodologies
• Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities
• Ability to create IEPs
• A patient, resourceful, and resilient personality
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Valid state special education certificate
