Volunteer Missionary Care Coordinator at Elim House Missions

Job Summary: 

• The Volunteer Missionary Care Coordinator provides holistic support, fellowship, and accountability to missionaries. This role focuses on ensuring the well-being, personal and spiritual growth, and overall success of missionaries in the field. The coordinator will foster a nurturing system that encourages open communication and mutual care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Listening and Confidentiality: Provide a safe space for missionaries to express their thoughts and concerns, ensuring confidentiality regarding sensitive information shared.
• Regular Debriefing and Accountability: Conduct regular check-ins and debriefing sessions to provide accountability and support.
• Prayer Partnership: Facilitate prayer partnerships and encourage spiritual growth through shared prayer experiences.
• Financial Support: Assist missionaries in finding freedom from financial pressures, including reporting to Elim House Management team on the need for new support when needed.
• Leadership Development: Offer guidance and training to help missionaries develop their leadership skills and promote mutual care within their teams.
• Remember special occasions with personalized cards and small gifts.
• Provide encouragement through prayer emails and scripture passages, utilizing platforms like Meet or Zoom for virtual prayer meetings

Qualifications:

• Experience in missionary care, counseling, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and supportive approach.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Familiarity with the challenges faced by missionaries, including financial and emotional pressures.
• Passion for, or at least interest in, improving the welfare of missionaries.
• Eagerness to undergo training, study, and acquire knowledge relating to or required for the role.
• Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
