    Visual Investigative Journalist

    We are looking for highly competent, experienced, motivated, and results-driven individual that will fit into our Newsroom as Visual Investigative Journalist.

    The Visual Investigative Journalist will combine strong investigative skills with advanced visual sources of information such as satellite pictures, CCTV etc to produce in-depth reports, documentaries, and multimedia packages that explain complex issues, as well as tell stories that otherwise would not have been told to engage diverse audiences.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Pitch, research, and execute investigative stories with strong visual components.
    • Develop and produce documentaries, data-driven visuals, and multimedia investigations.
    • Use video, photography, graphics, and other visual formats to present findings in compelling ways.
    • Collaborate with reporters, editors, and producers to deliver cross-platform investigative projects.
    • Apply advanced digital verification techniques to images, videos, and open-source content.
    • Ensure all investigative work is accurate, ethical, and legally sound.
    • Keep abreast of new tools and trends in visual and investigative journalism.

    Qualifications & Skills Required:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Film/Media Studies, Political Science, or related field.
    • 4 – 6 years of experience in investigative reporting, visual journalism, or documentary production.
    • Proven ability to develop and deliver impactful investigative or documentary projects.
    • Strong video editing, photography, and multimedia production skills.
    • Proficiency with investigative and verification tools (e.g., reverse image search, geolocation tools, OSINT methods).
    • Excellent storytelling, research, and analytical abilities.
    • High ethical standards and commitment to public-interest journalism.
    • Knowledge of Hausa or other Nigerian languages will be an advantage.
