Job Description

• The Vice-Chancellor serves as the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the university, responsible for general supervision and administration.
• He/she provides leadership in creating and maintaining academic standards and policies.
• He/she is to ensure the responsible management of university funds and resources.
• In addition, he must ensure peace, law and order within the institution while implementing policies and programmes. He/she is also the Chairman of the Senate and an ex officio member of the Governing Council.

Eligibility and Qualifications of the Applicant
The ideal candidate must:

• Be a distinguished scholar with academic and administrative leadership abilities.
• Hold a Ph.D. and be a Professor for at least five (5) years.
• Have at least 15 years of experience in university teaching, research, and administration.
• Demonstrate an ability to secure research grants and funding.
• Have the ability to foster positive relationships within the university and beyond.
• Exhibit high moral character, integrity, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Possess proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
• Possess effective communication skills.
• Be mentally and physically fit.

Tenure:

• The appointment is for a single term of five (5) years, non-renewable.

Age Limit:

• Candidate must not be more than 65 years of age at the time of assumption of duty.
