Job Summary

The Stainless Steel Welder will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, repair, and maintenance of stainless steel equipment, piping systems, and production components used within the seasoning production facility. The ideal candidate must possess strong technical welding expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work within strict food safety and hygiene standards.

The role requires a proactive individual capable of supporting maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and continuous production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform TIG/MIG welding on stainless steel equipment, pipes, tanks, frames, and production components.
• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair stainless steel structures and machinery used in food processing operations.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and identify welding or structural defects requiring repair.
• Ensure all welding jobs comply with food-grade stainless steel standards and company quality requirements.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities within the production plant.
• Grind, polish, and finish welded surfaces to meet sanitary and hygienic standards required in food manufacturing.
• Maintain welding tools, machines, and work areas in good working condition.
• Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and safe work practices.
• Collaborate with maintenance engineers, production teams, and contractors during equipment installation and modification projects.
• Minimize downtime by responding promptly to maintenance requests and breakdown issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE, Technical Certificate, OND, or Trade Test Certification in Welding & Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in stainless steel welding within a food manufacturing, beverage, pharmaceutical, or FMCG environment.
• Strong practical knowledge of TIG and MIG welding techniques for stainless steel fabrication.
• Ability to fabricate and maintain food-grade stainless steel equipment and piping systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Good understanding of workshop safety procedures and HSE compliance.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Sagamu, Ogun State — proximity to the location is very important.
• Candidate must be willing and available to resume on short notice.
