Lead the health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) function at the facility, safeguarding patients, staff, visitors and assets through robust standards, compliance and risk management.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement and monitor HSSE policies, procedures and management systems aligned with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Conduct risk assessments, safety audits and inspections; track corrective actions to closure.
Lead incident reporting, investigation and root‑cause analysis; recommend preventive measures.
Oversee fire safety, emergency preparedness, evacuation drills and business‑continuity arrangements.
Coordinate infection‑control support, waste management (including medical and biohazard waste) and environmental compliance.
Coordinate facility security operations, access control and contractor/visitor safety.
Deliver HSSE training, drills and awareness programmes for staff.
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements (NESREA, occupational safety, health‑regulator standards).
Maintain HSSE records, permits and reporting to management and authorities.
Liaise with regulators, emergency services and accreditation bodies.
Supervise and develop HSSE staff.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Environmental or Occupational Health & Safety, Sciences, Engineering or a related field, plus completion of NYSC or a valid exemption where applicable.
Minimum of 5–7 years’ HSSE experience, with a senior or supervisory element, gained in a healthcare, industrial or institutional HSSE environment.
Hospital experience covering infection control and medical‑waste management is an advantage.
