Purpose of the Position

    Responsible for the effective coordination of all finance related activities of the company  as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, investment opportunities, forecasting needs and securing new funding, determining cost of funds and overseeing the production of financial management information.

Job Roles/ Responsibilities:

• Daily posting of transactions vouchers
• Daily bank reconciliation with general ledger
• Prepare and render CBN monthly returns
• Prepare end of month financials
• Manage liquidity and the cost of funds
• Liaise with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out
• Assist in managing the company’s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems.
• Analyse change  and advising accordingly , developing financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk, conducting reviews and evaluations for cost reduction opportunities
• Provide and interpret financial information; monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends;
• Ensure adequate compliance to internal control policies and procedures
• Coordinate the development and implementation of finance and accounting policies, processes and procedures in line with leading practices
• Effectively manage relationship with Finance House Association of Nigeria (FHAN) and with all regulatory bodies ( CBN, NDIC, FIRS AND Auditors)
• Assist in managing the company’s  tax responsibilities ;  ensure that the company’s tax liabilities  & remittances are correctly reported
• Any other duties assigned by Supervisor.

Who You Are

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to successfully perform this job:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree from a college or university in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting or any other related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of broad financial accounting experience, ideally managing finance (accounting, budgeting, control, reporting, and grants). 
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Level accounting/finance Manager 
• Basic IFRS and Nigerian accounting regulations, standards and practices.
• Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis
• Exemplary history of financial project management.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting.
• Evidence of partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies.
• Good knowledge of financial management and accounting and budget holding principles.
• Knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
• Experience in developing budgets and financial reports, strategic planning, and providing guidance and support to non-finance staff.
• Strong leadership skills that include the ability to build effective teams, ability to motivate others, delegation, and timely/quality decision making.
• The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and exceptional problem-solving skills,
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills and great attention to detail.
