Job Summary

• The incumbent will have responsibility for managing client relationships and executing investment deals, across equity, mezzanine, debt, and trade finance, for the energy sector. This role demands deep knowledge of the energy sector, strong analytical skills, and expertise in managing complex transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support origination of new clients and opportunities, and management of existing client relationships.
• Undertake research and analysis, including prospective clients and opportunities, to provide a sound basis for investment decisions.
• Evaluate capital structures, forecast financial performance, and assess the impact of various financing structures within the process of developing tailored financing solutions for clients.
• Build, interrogate and maintain detailed financial models for valuation, project finance, and M&A purposes for transaction processes.
• Lead the preparation of transaction materials, including pitch books, financial models, valuation analyses, and investment appraisals.
• Support all aspects of transaction processes, including deal structuring, coordination of internal and external resources, and execution.
• Conduct due diligence on clients and transactions.

Education

• A strong first degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance or a related field of study.
• Relevant advanced degree e.g. master’s degree in engineering, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field of study.
• Relevant certifications related to finance and investment banking.

Experience

• 8 to 10 years professional experience preferably in energy and energy infrastructure related investment banking (deal origination and execution).
• Proficiency in transaction modelling, analysis and investment structuring.
• Excellent deal origination and relationship management skills.
• Excellent research, financial analysis and presentation skills
• Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory while oral and written fluency in other international languages will be an added advantage
