    Safety Officer

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and programs in line with GMP, NAFDAC, and other regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct reguler safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification in all production, warehouse, and laboratory areas
    • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Organize and deliver safety training and awareness programs for staff at all levels.
    • Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) across the facility
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations including waste Maintain acanagement and effluent control. accurate safety records, permits, and documentation for internal and external audits.
    • Participate in emergency preparedness planning and conduct regular drills (fire, chemical spill, evacuation)
    • Collaborate with Production, GA, and Engineering teams to integrate safety into daily operations.
    • Perform Job Safety Analysis (SA) for critical operations and high-risk activities.
    • Track and report key safety performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
    • Advise on safety aspects during new product introduction, process changes, and facility modifications.
    • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings before high-risk tasks. •Ensure compliance with all applicable occupational health and safety laws and standards.
    • Support internal and external audits (NAFDAC, ISO, etc.) by providing safety-related documentations and records.
    • Promote a proactive safety culture and encourage employee participation in safety initiatives.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Education: B.Sc./HND Graduate with level 3 ISPON Certificate from Alausa.
    • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years experience in safety role, preferably in pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry.

    SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

    • Strong knowledge of GMP, NAFDAC regulations, and ISPON requirements on safety standards.
    • Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
