ACHIEVE in Nigeria has supported four local implementers of the USAID-funded OVC program, Integrated Child Health and Social Services Awards in 17 states across four regions from December 2019 to January 2025. ACHIEVE currently provides Technical Assistance related to Life-Saving activities to the prime implementer of the THRIVE Project implemented by CCCRN. This support also includes the transition of NOMIS to the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs.
Scope of Work
In line with objective II of the ACHIEVE project, the consultant will provide technical assistance to THRIVE Implementing Partner to carry out OVC Service Delivery related activities. This may include but not limited to:
- Coordinating the review and harmonization of NOMIS with THRIVE’s newly customized OVC tools and reporting templates to align with the focus on lifesaving activities.
- Supporting THRIVE teams to train their sub-partners on the new custom indicators and reporting tools
- Leading the transition planning meeting with OVC stakeholders and the development of a transition roadmap with clear stakeholder roles as well as identifying and strengthening the capacity of the FMWA focal staff.
- Providing on the job training for the FMWA to implement the transition roadmap.
- Leading the official transition and formal handover meeting among the FWMA and OVC stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in any of the following or related fields: Health Management, Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Evaluation Research, Statistics, or Economics
- At least 7 years of experience in PEPFAR-funded projects in Nigeria, including orphans and vulnerable children programming.
- Experience in designing, managing, and implementing results-based MEL systems for PEPFAR-funded projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the National Orphans and Vulnerable Children Management Information System
- Experience working with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs
- Demonstrated relevant technical skills in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, with excellent organizational as well as English oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well on a team and with national stakeholders including the government, implementing partners, and local organizations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., and the ability to use various commercially available statistical software programs.
