4 to 8yrs hands-on experience in Terminal Radio Room Operations.
Experience in Shell terminal operations (Forcados Terminal) is a strong prerequisite. This includes handling of crude export operations and good acquaintance with radio communication and its equipment. Maintains logs and record keeping.
Key Skills
Handling of crude export operations liaising with multi-disciplines.
Accurately calculate the hourly export volumes and rates during tanker loading operation. Process export documentation, interfaces with regulators and Government Agents.
Facility safety enforcement including Risk identification/mitigation, work crew communication and buddy system.
Knowledge in safe work practices and use of SOPs
Shell certified Designated First Aider

Strong Communication & interpersonal relationship skills
Proficiency in writing and with good command of English.
Proficiency in the use of Permit-To Work System (PTW e-Vision)
Generating daily Marine operations report.
Collation of data and monitoring
Roles and Responsibilities
Operator of Oil terminal assets in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with stipulated guidelines.
Establish and maintain regular contact with all infield Marine vessels.
Monitor all infield activities and demand for regular information updates.
Maintain chronological records of all infield activities appropriately.
Maintain station logs of all radio communications transmitted infield correctly.
Compile vessels daily bunker consumption data for monitoring with effective utilization.
Maintain contact with export tankers, Crude Loading Platform (CLP) and all operational vessels located offshore and onshore.
Monitor and communicate Marine Coordinator’s instructions to vessels.
Provide first response in the event of an emergency and keep contemporaneous records of all happenings.
Raise unsafe act and unsafe condition (UA/UC).
Report incidents, potential hazards, or abnormal situation to the Marine Coordinator.
Work Cycle
Successful candidate will hit the ground running working.
The work location is Swamp-field based accessible via the Helicopter.
The job activity period is daily on 24-hours with work shift (6am to 6pm & 6pm to 6am) routine over a 21-day period.
The successful candidate will manage own absences with his/her contractor for suitable qualified covers.
The successful candidate is expected to be Port Harcourt/Warri based.
There may be need for periodic visits to Shell industrial area for trainings and official assignments.
Personnel may be required to work extended hours / days as need may arises.
