    Quantity Surveyor

    Job Description

    • The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects from initial calculations to final accounts.
    • The role ensures value for money while maintaining quality standards, prepares accurate cost estimates, and provides contractual and commercial support throughout the project lifecycle.

    Responsibilities
    Cost Estimation & Analysis:

    • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documents.
    • Evaluate drawings, specifications, and project requirements to project accurate costs.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for proposed projects.

    Contract & Procurement Management:

    • Assist in the preparation, evaluation, and negotiation of contracts and subcontractor agreements.
    • Support procurement processes, including pricing, cost comparison, and vendor selection.
    • Monitor and track material and labour costs to ensure alignment with the budget.

    Project Monitoring & Reporting:

    • Manage and track project budgets, variations, and cost control measures.
    • Prepare interim valuations, progress reports, and cost forecasts.
    • Measure and value work done on-site in collaboration with site teams.

    Risk & Compliance:

    • Identify and evaluate commercial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and safety standards.
    • Maintain proper documentation of all project-related financial records.

    Final Accounts & Closeout:

    • Prepare and agree on final accounts with clients and contractors.
    • Ensure timely submission of invoices, payment applications, and financial reports.

    Requirements

    • BSc / HND in Quantity Surveying or a relevant field.
    • Professional certification (e.g., NIQS, RQS) is an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in construction or engineering projects.
    • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and cost management techniques.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, QS software (e.g., CostX, QSPlus).
    • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
    • Attention to detail and strong numerical ability.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
