Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Manager
Create practical systems that guide staff on safety, quality, and environmental expectations, aligned with relevant standards and project needs.
Coordinate the acquisition and renewal of all necessary health, safety, and environmental permits for construction activities; liaise with relevant regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with local laws and alignment with project timelines
Conduct site inspections, audits, and checks to ensure operations meet ISO standards, legal requirements, and client specifications.
Identify risks, ensure controls are in place, and respond to near misses, injuries, or quality failures by investigating causes and enforcing corrective actions.
Organize toolbox talks, safety inductions, and refresher sessions to keep staff informed, alert, and competent on QHSE practices.
Track availability, suitability, and proper use of PPE across sites; coordinate with procurement and site supervisors as needed.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training, and non-conformances; prepare reports for management and clients.
Work with project and site teams to monitor material quality, workmanship, and compliance with project specifications or standards.
Submit required documentation, coordinate inspections, and manage relationships related to health, safety, environmental, and quality matters.
Oversee ISO audit processes, ensuring full compliance with relevant standards and maintaining complete, organized, and audit-ready documentation always.
Foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement by encouraging staff to report hazards, raise concerns, and contribute to safer, higher-quality project delivery.
Perform other duties that may arise in line with the evolving needs of the role and the organization.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a QHSE role within the construction or engineering industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Professional certification in QHSE (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, ISO Lead Auditor, OSHA, or equivalent).
Demonstrable hands-on experience in the implementation, auditing, and compliance of ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 standards.
Proven track record of successfully managing QHSE systems, site inspections, and audit processes.
Working knowledge of relevant local and international regulations governing construction safety, quality, and environmental practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with basic reporting or audit tracking tools.
Membership in a recognized professional safety or quality body.
