Safety Officer

- Experience 5 years
- Location Lagos

What You'll Own
- Routine and unannounced site inspections — identifying hazards before incidents occur
- Development and enforcement of risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work systems
- Leading root-cause investigations for all accidents and near-misses
- Conducting daily/weekly Toolbox Talks and mandatory site safety inductions
- Enforcing PPE compliance across all site personnel — zero exceptions
- Full emergency preparedness — response plans, drills, and first aid readiness
- Ensuring compliance with Nigerian federal and local construction safety regulations
- Full authority to halt any unsafe work activity on site
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years' HSE experience on active construction or real estate development sites
- NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma — mandatory
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Card — required
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian construction safety regulations and international HSE frameworks
- NISP membership is an advantage
- HND or B.Sc. in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field
