    Project Manager – agriFIMS Project

    Start Date: Subject to contract award

    Reporting Line:  Reports to GHI Project Director

    Position Summary

    The project manager will provide overall leadership, coordination, and oversight of delivery for the agriFIMS project across Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States. The role will ensure timely implementation, stakeholder alignment, quality assurance, and sustainability of the platform in line with donor and government expectations. In addition, the PM will lead the scaling of other GHI digital products.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Planning, Coordination, and Institutionalisation

    • Lead detailed project planning, work plans, and timelines across all states
    • Coordinate implementation across technical teams, SEOs, and partners
    • Ensure alignment with donor requirements (WFP/IFAD/FAO) and state priorities
    • Institutionalisation of GHI innovative solutions, including Farmer Information Management System (agriFIMS) and Agro-weather Dissemination System (ADS) across Nigeria.

    Stakeholder Management

    • Serve as the primary interface between GHI, state governments, and development partners
    • Oversee stakeholder engagement strategies and ensure consistency across states
    • Facilitate high-level engagements with Ministries and federal stakeholders

    Technical Oversight

    • Supervise system deployment, data collection activities, and integration efforts
    • Ensure alignment with NDFR and other national systems
    • Monitor system performance, data quality, and usage

    Monitoring, Reporting & Quality Assurance

    • Lead preparation of weekly, monthly, and donor reports
    • Track KPIs (farmer registration, system usage, training outcomes)
    • Ensure quality control across all project deliverables

    Financial & Risk Management

    • Oversee budget implementation and resource allocation
    • Identify risks (political, operational, technical) and implement mitigation strategies

    Day-to-Day Responsibilities

    • Daily coordination activities with project technical and non-technical teams.
    • Engaging with state ministry officials and resolving operational bottlenecks
    • Supervising field activities and troubleshooting system/data issues
    • Preparing reports, presentations, and donor updates
    • Managing internal team workflows and deliverables.

    Expected Deliverables

    • Weekly implementation tracker (all states), workplan update.
    • Coordination meeting minutes (project technical meeting & state-level).
    • Update of project issue log/risk map with resolution actions.
    • Weekly project progress report.
    • Strategic alignment updates (NDFR, identified partners).

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Master\'s degree in a relevant field such as agricultural information systems, computer engineering, or related disciplines.
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in donor-funded programmes
    • At least 3 years of experience in a project management role
    • Strong understanding of agricultural systems and/or digital platforms
    • Experience working with government stakeholders and development partners
    • Proven ability to manage multi-state or large-scale projects

    Required Competencies

    • Strong leadership and coordination skills
    • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
    • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience with the use of project management software (e.g., Clickup, Slack, etc) is desirable.
    • Close attention to detail and reporting accuracy
    • Knowledge of Hausa/Kanuri/Fulfude and other local languages in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe is desirable.
