    Project Auditor

    • The company is seeking to hire an experienced Project Auditor who will provide an independent oversight and assurance over financial, operational, and contractual activities across project sites. The role exists to ensure that projects are executed in accordance with approved budgets, procurement procedures, contractual obligations, and company policies, while safeguarding company resources by identifying cost leakages, control weaknesses, fraud risks, and operational inefficiencies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Review project budgets versus actual expenditures.
    • Monitor cost allocations and expense classifications, identify cost overruns, and analyze root causes.
    • Validate percentage-of-completion reporting.
    • Review revenue recognition consistency and assess project margin performance.
    • Review Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Local Purchase Orders (LPOs).
    • Verify compliance with procurement approval thresholds.
    • Confirm delivery of materials against Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs)through physical verification of materials at project sites.
    • Identify under-delivery, over-invoicing, or material substitution.
    • Validate subcontractor invoices against work done and verify progress certifications and payment milestones.
    • Review variation orders and approval documentation, and assess retention compliance and payment terms.
    • Detect inflated billing or duplicate claims.
    • Conduct periodic and surprise site visits and verify the existence of procured materials and equipment.
    • Review job cards and work logs.
    • Confirm alignment between BOQ, materials consumed, and work completed.
    • Assess documentation of material issuance and usage.
    • Investigate discrepancies in quantities supplied vs. quantities billed.
    • Review suspicious journal entries relating to project costs and escalate material irregularities immediately.
    • Assess the adequacy of project-level internal controls and recommend control improvements
    • Review authorization and approval processes.
    • Prepare audit working papers and detailed findings.
    • Draft audit reports with actionable recommendations.
    • Present findings to the Head of Procurement & Project Performance Audit.
    • Follow up on the implementation of corrective actions.
    • Any other duties being assigned by the line manager.

    Key Requirements:

    • Job Knowledge, Work Experience, and Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
    • Professional certification (ICAN / ACCA / CIA / Q.S. certification preferred).
    • 3–7 years’ experience in construction audit, project finance, or cost control.
    • Strong understanding of BOQ and project costing.
    • Experience working with ERP systems (Navision Business Central preferred).
    • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
