Job Description

• The Pharmacist is responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and proper management of medications within KTHSMB healthcare facilities. The role involves ensuring the safe and effective use of drugs, providing pharmaceutical care, reviewing prescriptions, and advising healthcare professionals and patients on medication use. The officer will also manage drug inventory, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and contribute to rational drug use and patient safety.

 Key Responsibilities

• Review and dispense prescriptions accurately and safely
• Provide counseling to patients on medication use and adherence
• Ensure proper storage and management of pharmaceutical supplies
• Monitor drug interactions, side effects, and contraindications
• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and drug inventory
• Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and standards
• Advise healthcare professionals on drug therapy and usage
• Supervise pharmacy support staff and technicians
• Conduct inventory control and prevent stockouts or expiries
• Participate in hospital pharmacy and drug management committees

 Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or Pharm.D)
• NYSC Discharged/Exemption Certificate
• Valid practicing license
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology and drug safety
• Good communication and counseling skills
• Relevant experience
