• Experience in hospital inpatient pharmacy.
• Focus on medication safety support.
• Receive and review prescription orders.
• Supervise/oversee and closely reviews the work of support personnel.
• Orders, direct oversight of the preparation and dispensing of patient medications.
• Participate in department and system process improvement activities.
• Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
• Maintaining the drug stock in the hospital at all times. This includes storing medications safely, processing orders, and purchasing medicine from suppliers.
• Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems
• Provides direct supervision to pharmacy interns and pharmacy technicians working with the pharmacist
• Maintains distributive, and clinical competency in compliance to policy and sufficient to meet pharmacy standards for patient safety and effective therapy, including clinical monitoring, assessments, adherence and compliance
• Maintain records of all transactions of the pharmacy necessary to ensure accurate control over and accountability for all drugs as required by applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
• Demonstrates a commitment to the profession and to the quality of care provided by the department by participating in professional organizations, professional seminars, or maintaining advanced certification.
