    Personal Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor

    This position presents an exceptional opportunity for an outstanding and highly organised professional to provide high-level administrative and executive support to the Vice-Chancellor. The Personal Assistant will serve as the primary point of contact for all matters relating to the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, ensuring the smooth coordination of the University’s top-level administrative and strategic activities.

    The role requires a proactive, discreet, and resourceful individual who can manage multiple priorities with professionalism and sound judgment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Executive Support: Manage the Vice-Chancellor’s daily schedule, appointments, travel, and correspondence with utmost efficiency and confidentiality.
    • Communication Management: Serve as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including the Governing Council, senior management, government officials, and partners, demonstrating tact and professionalism.
    • Documentation and Reporting: Draft, proofread, and prepare high-quality correspondence, reports, speeches, and presentations on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor.
    • Meeting Coordination: Organise and support meetings chaired or attended by the Vice-Chancellor, including the preparation of agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions.
    • Confidential Information Handling: Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
    • Project and Event Support: Provide administrative support for key institutional projects, programmes, and events involving the Vice-Chancellor’s Office.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • A good university degree in any relevant discipline from a recognised institution.
    • At least five (5) years of relevant experience as a Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant, or in a similar administrative role at a senior level, preferably within a university or comparable organisation.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and multitasking abilities.
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and modern digital productivity tools.
    • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and work independently with minimal supervision.
    • A professional appearance and demeanour, with a high level of emotional intelligence and integrity.
