We are looking for a creative and skilled Pastry Chef to join our culinary team.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about baking and dessert creation, with a keen eye for detail, presentation, and taste.
You will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of desserts, pastries, and other sweet goods, ensuring high quality and consistency. If you enjoy experimenting with flavors and bringing new ideas to the menu, we’d like to meet you.
Responsibilities
Prepare a wide variety of baked goods including cakes, tarts, pies, cookies, and breads.
Develop, test, and introduce new dessert recipes in line with seasonal trends and customer preferences.
Decorate pastries and desserts using different techniques (e.g., icing, glazing, chocolate work, sugar art).
Ensure all baked goods are fresh, appealing, and meet quality standards before serving.
Monitor ingredient stock levels and place orders as needed to avoid shortages.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with food safety standards.
Supervise and train pastry assistants or junior staff where applicable.
Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team to design menus and suggest improvements.
Manage baking schedules and production to meet customer demands (including special orders or events).
Adhere to portion and waste control guidelines to optimize food cost.
Requirements & Skills
Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts, Pastry & Baking, or equivalent training.
Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or relevant role.
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dessert presentation, and food safety regulations.
Creativity and passion for developing unique and appealing recipes.
Attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays if required.
