The Operational Control Manager will oversee the efficiency, integrity, and compliance of AEDC's daily operations.
The role includes developing control frameworks, monitoring performance, improving processes, and ensuring adherence to company and regulatory standards. This position drives operational excellence and supports cross-department collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain an operational control framework aligned with company strategy and compliance standards.
Monitor and evaluate daily operations to ensure efficiency, reliability, and adherence to internal controls.
Conduct operational risk assessments to identify weaknesses and recommend corrective measures.
Develop and report on Key Performance
Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIS) to track performance and control effectiveness.coordinate process audits, control testing, and performance reviews across business units.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
Lead process improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing productivity, reducing operational losses, and enhancing service quality.
Collaborate with Finance, Risk, Internal Audit, and Operations teams to align control activities with business priorities.
Prepare operational reports and present findings to Management for decision-making.
Train and guide operational teams on control procedures, compliance expectations, and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in relevant fields such as: Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering or any related field
Must be accredited by at least one of these professional bodies.i.e. Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN); Association of Chartered Certified Accountants; Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
At least 10 years post NYSC working experience.
Experience in utilities or energy sector auditing, preferably in electricity distribution.
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, operational risk, and asset management in power utilities.
Must have a deep understanding of auditing standards, corporate ethics, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent analytical, investigative, and reporting skills.
