    Nutrition Intern

    ROLE

    To enhance operational effectiveness and ensure timely implementation of activities, the Health and Nutrition Intern will provide direct support to the team. This role is designed to alleviate the workload of existing staff by assisting with routine program tasks, thereby contributing to improved service delivery.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • The post holder will receive a context specific ToR for each deployment, which will draw upon the responsibilities outlined below.
    • Programme Support (typically will be at field level):
    • Assist in the collection, entry, and organization of program data.
    • Ensure proper documentation and filing of records.
    • Facilitate the movement of nutrition supplies, including RUTF.
    • Support administrative tasks, including printing official correspondence prepared by the Nutrition Team for submission to state-level stakeholders.
    • Help organize meetings, trainings, and other program-related events.
    • Maintain accurate records of logistics and administrative activities.
    • General:
    • Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    Essential

    • Health Education / Public Health / Nutrition / BSc or equivalent with minimum of 1-year progressive experience post NYSC
    • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to be respectful, kind, sensitive and empathise with all beneficiaries and their carers
    • Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions
    • Experience in community-based interventions in Nigeria especially in the NE
    • Demonstrable ability at report writing 
    • Prepared to live and work in an uncertain security environment
    • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles 
    • Fluency in written and spoken English and any local language
    • Computer literate

    Desirable

    • Experience in supporting the implementing nutrition and health interventions.
