• We are seeking an experienced and dynamic News Editor to lead our newsroom operations in Umuahia.
• The ideal candidate will have strong editorial judgment, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering accurate and engaging news content across all platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily newsroom activities and manage a team of reporters.
• Assign, edit, and approve news stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Ensure accuracy, balance, and compliance with editorial standards.
• Monitor breaking news and provide direction for timely coverage.
• Mentor and guide reporters to improve storytelling quality.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ newsroom experience, with at least 2 years in an editorial role.
• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Excellent news judgment and knowledge of current affairs.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
